School Profile: Genevieve Kels

Age: 18

Occupation: Student

Major: Drone and Nanite Control

Bio:

Like many students, Ms Genvieve Kel has taken advantage of The Rendering Pit’s flexible payment scheme as a means to achieve higher education. The university’s unique fee structure has attracted many potential students from across known systems, each counting on the fact that upon graduation, the cost of their education is nullified. However, should they fail, the university will activate the contract they have signed, and they will work on campus until they have paid back the cost of their course.

Without any exceptional talents, intelligence or social networking skills we anticipated that Ms Kel would fail within her second year at The Rendering Pit. Recent developments have caused us to push that estimate back. Her current extra-curricular activities have affirmed to us that, at least for the time being, she is more useful to the university as a student than as custodial staff.

It appears Ms Kel has had an encounter with our cafeteria staff and has received a liberal injection of specialised food processing nanites. The result as far as we can tell is an increase in hunger, an increase in food storage capacity, the removal of her gag reflex and muted ability to discern whether or not she feels ‘full’. Other known modifications include, but may not be limited to; basic neuromod suite and basic drone control suite. The student possesses an external recon and personal assistance drone, designation B-33.

B-33 is basic university hardware, although the shape and appearance of this variant appears to be unique to the Ms Kels, for the moment. B-33 is programmed and designed to be a beginner drone for beginner students. Learning how to control external limbs, or robotic devices through neuromods can be a lengthy and time consuming process. For a student wishing to achieve some modicum of extra credit and understanding of the drone control process, the B-33 unit is an ideal candidate. It’s light, small, and responds primarily to subconscious desires. Upon reception of a desire or request, the drone will usually and quickly respond.

Reminder to all students and staff: Robotic drones do not have personalities. Report any instances of aberrant behaviour to Floor 2, Sector C-31.
