You're right but there are currently two versions of the necklace. The original Kota lost and the replacement that Shobu got from Mora's Grandmother. The stolen ones had been in Mora's locker since the start whilst this one is the one with the magical properties. Shinoa is giving Mora the magical one for her and Mora will return the original to Kota later.
