Hey everyone!  I just wanted to drop a line quickly on what I've been working on.  I didn't mean to go silent for a few weeks.  Things have been crazy at work and I've been working a lot of overtime and was just too burnt out coming home to really focus properly on Lylas Curse development.  Now that the storm is over, I'm getting back into the groove again.  Since the last update, I have been making progress, just not as fast as I would have liked because of what was just explained.

Progress I have made though has been mostly under the hood.  I've been developing the inventory/ menu system as well as writing the engine for quest tracking.  It's pretty tricky but I'm figuring it out.  I'm coming up with a menu system that acts like a diary for Lyla, a book she opens.  The different book chapters are the different areas of the menu like quests, or in game lore that she has uncovered, etc.  I've been writing the next part of the story as well.

I currently don't have a date for when I'll be finished on the next update but I'll keep everyone updated.  When I get back to the art production side, I'll have a lot more interested posts to share.

The image attached was a small side distraction.  I collaborated with NineHorseHitch who wanted to write a fan story of Yummy Tigers "Aylias Quest" of Yummy's character interacting with Lara Croft.  It's just a short story and I told him we can work on the story and that I would make a couple of small illustrations for it.

In return, he was going to write a short fanfiction of Lyla and Sock that I was going to give to my patrons as a thank you gift :)

On an exciting note!  I'm funneling the money I've made from my patrons right back into the project via equipment upgrades.  I'm really excited for this since anything that can make me more efficient and push content out faster to everyone the better :D.

I bought a new task chair, after the last update, I chained myself to my desk for a week straight finishing everything up.  Afterwards my ass was sore for a good while.  I didn't have a great chair and ordered a really good chair, not just any chair either.  I got a Herman Miller Aeron chair: https://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/office-chairs/aeron-chairs/

If you know anything about chairs, this is top tier and has been on my wishlist for a very long time.

The other piece of equipment I'm ordering (haven't ordered yet because I'm waiting for it to come to market: End of March, 2018) is a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24: https://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-displays/wacom-cintiq-pro-24

I'm really excited for this as it will help me a great deal with my lineart.  Right now, I've been creating all of the art assets for Lyla's Curse on a Wacom intuos 4 tablet which is great for digital painting but linework is a lot more difficult.  This tablet has served me well though (10 years now) but I need this Cintiq for better production.  Anyways, that's a current update on what has been going on.  Thank you everyone who has been sticking with me so far.

P.S: If you're not aware, I have a discord server setup for Lyla's Curse, link:  Lylas Curse Official Discord

I'm very active on it and it's the easiest way to talk to me directly and get quick responses.  Or if you just wanted to bullshit about new ideas with Lylas Curse or just about anything in general :)
