Does it seem like Shampoo and Lum resemble each other? Your eyes aren't deceiving you, creator Rumiko Takahashi had a habit of reusing character design elements. Some have even called Shampoo a "Lum reboot" which more closely follows her original plan for Urusei Yatsura before editors and fans steered her in a different direction.
