Bart Simpson first said “Cowabunga” in the short “Skateboarding” airing Feb 7 1988. The Ninja Turtles said it December 17 1987. It was in the zeitgeist. Bart Simpson’s blue shirt was not solely used by bootleggers. I have a set of Simpsons postcards from 1990 and Bart has a blue shirt. Also his secret best friend is his skateboard… the merch people had maybe 10 episodes to draw from. Bebop and Rocksteady’s origins have little to nothing to do with Krang or Dimension X. They were Shredder’s goons and he experimented on them with the mutagen. All things considered, they seem to deal with being transformed into animal-human monstrosities quite well. I remember seeing that the Tonka/Rahzar swap had to do with ownership over comics characters vs. characters from the cartoon. I personally think Tonka and Rahzar are awesome. They’re babies. They call Shredder “mama.” Makes me laugh.

Am I the only one who feels like Hosley is eclipsing the two friends? Like when urkle took over family matters? #Hospod

David singing the theme over and over made me realize it’s just a soundalike for “Weird Science”?

Hangtime

You can introduce Bebop and Rocksteady without Dimension X. Shredder creates them.

David Draper

I still have such nostalgia blinders on for this movie! I know it’s not “good,” but I can’t see past how 14-year-old me felt about it.

Nick Panico

FYI to the boys, specifically David…Patrick Bergin’s character in Lawnmower Man 2 is not supposed to be the same character Pierce Brosnan played in the first.

Jeremy Jones

The criticisms are valid but there's no way they can meme so hard about the dumb Croc Dundee 2 dynamite fishing scene and not find a single source of joy in all the very dumb stuff TMNTII has.

John Blood

What's that? David was blatantly wrong about the events of a movie?

Anthony Viscito

I think the “Secret” was supposed to be that the scientists were going to end up being the alien brain monsters in disguise that were creating the ooze but then they cut out that story line.

Jon Ryves

the fact they didn't even mention the A Little Too Raph bit is criminal
