Hello!

The first Sci Fi update of the month is here!  Alita, or 'Gally' in Japan probably needs no introduction judging how one sided the poll was.  The protagonist of the Manga, OVA and recent movie, Alita has a very intricate history that I probably can't do justice to.  I did watch the first OVA as research and found her introduction and world very interesting.  She starts off as a hunter warrior but goes on to have a lot of different adventures.  Alita also undergoes different cyborg upgrades as the series continues.  I decided to design my own version, while adhering to her general appearance/proportions in the manga.  I also added my own version of her wings because cyborg wings are awesome!

Next up, we have everyone's favorite curmudgeonly Dark Templar.  Ah, Zeratul, a character so badass he can one shot a Hydralisk.  He would have been a straight up broken hero in Starcraft if the Protoss campaign wasn't so hard.  Plus his voice in the original game was James Earl Jones caliber.  I haven't played it in years but I still remember the verbal beatdown he gave Aldaris.

I stuck closer to his original concept art, mostly I'm not a big fan of the face mask they gave him in Starcraft 2 onwards.  I mean, what's the point of the mask, he can already turn invisible.  Blizzard even retroactively added the mask in Starcraft Remastered or as I like to call it 'historical revisionism'.  If George Lucas couldn't pull that off, I doubt anyone else can.

I'll be working on Medieval Spawn so that will be the next WIP.  After that, character poses!  I know how Zeratul's pose will look like and I think it will be awesome.  Stay tuned!

The very intricate story of Alita is very easy to give justice to. Just use the words of the author: "A convoluted excuse to string together fights that are increasingly over the top". He mocks his own story and characters several times, even in-character. 😅 So much so that since people kept taking his story too seriously (and the author did not like the kind of fans he was getting due to his use of gratuitous german and nazi references), he decided to double down on the silly so that there was no more excuse to believe he was being serious in any way, shape or form. So, of course, this is never acknowledged in any anime or movie ever made, which stops before the original ending which the author rewrote, since he considered it silly due to taking itself too seriously. That said... yeah... it is both movie and comic accurate. Minus the wings, which appeared only in one cover where she was reduced to a gutted skeleton. But since that one cover <b><u><i>is</i></u></b> the most famous... yeah. Fair enough. 👍 Despite being a fan of Alita... this once i'm actually far more intrigued by your rendition of Zerathul. I actually really like it.

Alita turned out great.

Thanks! 👍 I didn't know the author was so casually flippant with the stories. 😄

adding the blade to zeratul would be so cool

given he attracted the kind of fanbase he really did not like due to his extensive use of gratuitous "germanish" (it's... basically "engrish" but german) and nazi ideological references... it was warranted. But yeah the author mocked everything and everybody and went full parody in the end with stuff so ludicrous words fail to describe it. At one point Alita gets "copied" multiple times because it's revealed that she was always an android from the beginning (how did that work since she was saved because she has an evidently human brain? Well... "obviously" somebody stole her brain while she was not looking, i mean, why not?) and the copies rane from a pair of bunny girls that fight using bunny girls moves, to a trans man that fights with manliness and does not wish to be reminded that he still has the physical body of a woman (he... basically just reshapes the tits into pectorals and that is it) and a paraplegic nerd that basically shifted her combat genius into genius genius... don't ask how an artificial body can be paraplegic. Then the original comes back, except she's still a copy seeking the original brain which then, once stolen falls and shatters because those combat geniuses capable of moving faster than sound and one of them has a litteral black hole in her womb that she can use as a generator... trip. and it gets remade out of flan by a mad genius. all of this while they are fighting and fleeing from a space station on mars due to a solar system-wide tournament that has people giving punches so hard the level an area 200 meters wide. So yes. The author just went full ludicrous at some point and said "you know what, if i've got to have f-ing nazis as fans, might as well troll them and have fun, while poking at all the plot holes thanks to total "geniuses" i put in my stories which can litterally see through dimensions due to smartitude powered by... uhm... a microchip is one brain therefore 3 microchips is better... yes... and thus can literally see me writing the script".

I think I actually like the Alita sculpt. Didn't like the idea due to there being several models already, but this is "different enough" definitely

Great work as always! Getting a couple of poses for Zeratul with and without blades would be dope!

Cool, might be an idea to have a separated it so it can be printed in colored resin.

yeah. Right now the artist stopped the main storyline and went to tell the story of when Alita was like a 5 y.o. kid because he started seeing "that" kind of fan art which he did not really approve of... so for a few years now we have witnessed adorbs kiddo Alita.
