Hello!

This is my first pass with Liara's Head (multiple images attached).  For those unfamiliar with the Mass Effect franchise, Asari are an alien race in that universe.  They all have feminine features despite the fact that they are technically genderless and they can mate with other alien species but the offspring are always Asari (Don't ask me how, I have no idea).

For Liara, I focused on capturing her facial features, namely the fish like scales and making sure she looks like her in game counterpart.  I'll focus on texturing her head before moving on to her clothing.  All high poly features are done in ZBrush.

Patrons, feel free to let me know what you think so far or if you have any questions about the process.  Thanks!

Believe it or not... i never checked what the back of the heads looked like for the Asari. 🤔 I have thus zero clue if that is canon or not, but if that is not canon, it should be. I can see where some of the scale patterns might need some tweaking but you really need to start nitpicking. (random example: from the zygomaticus to the orbicularis you can neatly see a division line in the pattern instead of a morphing) Overall though this is an incredibly high grade job and i love it! As for how the Asari can have Asari offspring with other species i'm sure somebody somewhere wrote 50 pages about it. 😂👍💖 Nerds be nerds. 🤓

Looks great already! Reminds me of Roman busts, I guess it's the eyes.

As for the Asari, they are not "technically genderless". They are "mono-gendered", or rather single-sexed - and all female. Kind of like ants, except all can reproduce.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

It's really simple - mentally merge with partner, read partner (somehow), use the information to re-arrange your own DNA (somehow), and voila, you have a not-clone of yourself. :)

Haha, somehow I thought they didn't have a gender. I thought Liara said it one time in the first game.
