March Voting Results (Patreon)
Content
Hello!
The Fantasy and Special poll results are in! Important welcome pack information discussed as well at the end.
So it looks like Morathi took the top spot by a pretty wide margin followed distantly by the Vampiress. I have noticed most poll suggestions don't achieve very high numbers. It does seem Fantasy and Sci Fi in general are not as popular with the community anymore. If community members have suggestions on how to turn that around, I'd like to hear them.
But Corax crushed it in the Primarch poll so he'll be the next son of the Emperor to make his debut! I can't remember who told me this but someone once suggested Keanu Reeves would make a perfect Corax. 😉
Anyways, based on the poll results, here's how I'll make the future schedule. Arueshalae was delayed so she'll be with Morathi and the Vampire for Fantasy month. I'll include the Grey Knights Supreme Grand Master into Fantasy Month as well since that actually has high demand and fits well with Fantasy month. Corax, I'll guarantee in the upcoming Grimdark month. I was thinking about putting him in Sci Fi month, but I already said Shadowsun would be there so it's best to keep the Ravenlord in the Grimdark slot.
So here is the what next month's release will look like:

Finally, I'd like to talk about some administrative changes regarding the welcome pack. It's come to my attention that patreon pages get leaked to shady sites, even the private pages. So the welcome pack information gets leaked as well. There's also been a significant rise of piracy in the past year, something I really don't have that much time to deal with as it is. And finally, patreon as a platform has undergone quite a few changes which I'm not happy with. Honestly, the interface just keeps getting more confusing from a creator account's point of view. Not sure how it looks from the community's perspective, but the GUI for creating posts is just awful now. I don't even have the option to format lists. They're just removing perfectly good features. 🤦♂️
I've also been pretty lax with how I treat the welcome pack for years but I think it's time I started making some changes. So here's what's happening:
Welcome pack access information will not be put on the reward pages anymore. If a community member pledged as a Consulter or Merchant in month N, they will receive an email with the welcome pack information for month N.
Community members have been asking for a pay annually subscription option for my patreon. I didn't want to do this because I couldn't think of tangible benefits to include for this sort of thing. But since there's high demand, I've set it as follows for now. Consulters/Merchants on a pay annually option will get 16% off. They will also immediately qualify for all bonus rewards. There used to be a patreon page explaining rewards but GW nuked it. I'll try to think of more benefits for an annual subscription as well.
Due to community requests, I have been working on an excel sheet that details what each month's proxy equivalent are and their status (in welcome pack/MMF/removed). It's not complete but a list with the stuff from 2023-present will be sent out to Consulters.
Anyways, that's another Grimdark month in the bag! This was a surprising one for me. Cypher definitely gave me some opportunity to switch things up and Aleya was especially fun to work on, she's just an entertaining character in general. Her cover pose was supposed to be a joke but apparently community members actually want that version, I guess to send as a Secret Santa gift for a co-worker they hate. 😅 That version is probably not for everyone but I'll make it available by request.
Grimdark fans, please let your respective armies know what's coming! Thanks and see you next month!
