Today, I went to Disney On Ice to see the show Dream Big! This trip was very special because I bought rink tickets! Which is one the most expensive/best seats for the show. Dream Big focuses on Prince and Princesses of Disney films (also Miguel from Coco for some reason lol) and it was so magical! ✨

Back on my birthday in August I got an email from Disney notifying me that Disney On Ice would be coming back to my city with this different show. So, I saved up my birthday money and a few paychecks to treat my brother and I to really cool seats at the show! Sitting in the “expensive” section is interesting cause the chairs weren’t much more comfortable than the cheaper seats. We also got stopped multiple times to get our tickets checked on the way over. It was cool seeing the show from the center I’ve only seen Disney On Ice from the sides before.

(Probably gonna use this one for the vlog thumbnail)

The show opened with Aladdin and I loved that it was a story version in this show. I really like the scene where Aladdin meets Jasmine in the market so that was cool to see in figure skating form.

Next was Beauty and The Beast which was mostly a sing a long in this show. Still enjoyable!

Tangled was also a sing a long section with just one song. Honestly that surprised me cause the main set looked like a tower so they could’ve done something cool with that?

I enjoyed how expressive the skater for Moana was she did a good job representing the character. In the past two shows I saw that had Moana she mostly just rode the boat and not much else. This one was more animated and all over the ice!

The Little Mermaid in this show had an intro for Prince Eric! Which was cool, I loved that this show tried to show more personality for the princes too.

Love all the bubbles in this and they had Ariel’s SISTERS introduced and all. Really loved that!

The Cinderella section again focused on the prince at his ball trying to find a wife. It was fun to see the personality of the prince and how he was fed up with the matchmaking which showed in the film. (Even if it was just barely) Cinderella’s carriage was beautiful and they left it out on the ice at the end to take photos with.

The Sleeping Beauty section was my favorite!!! When I saw on the itinerary that Aurora was included I was excited even if it was just a sing a long. But no! It was a full story segment that started with MALEFICENT my favorite princess villain! Green fire and all!! Her dragon form was SO COOL and ugh I was just freaking out and prince Phillip is my favorite Disney Prince too! I was so excited I felt all the serotonin flood my brain. Then they performed Once Upon A Dream which is one of my favorite princess songs too! Just an amazing section I was so happy.

Next up was a sing a long section of The Princess and The Frog, I loved again, how the skater playing Tiana was so expressive. They captured Tiana well!

Then the Coco section and while I like this section I’m just genuinely confused to why? They could’ve added another princess (hi Brave and Mulan exist 😭) but we got a non-prince? Confusing. I guess you could say Miguel is “musical royalty” but idk if felt out of place with the princes and princesses theme. The section was okay though not as fun without the ghost skeletons in the air and giant skeleton puppets.

Next we have Frozen and again, I was so happy to see another villain! (We got Ursula, Maleficent, and Hans) Love Is An Open Door is actually my favorite song in Frozen so it was fun to see it performed.

This version of Frozen focused more on the story of Frozen so we got story stuff like Olaf and his wish for summer.

There was a cool effect using a firework that “hits” Anna to represent Elsa’s powers freezing her heart.

Then the show ended with all the princesses in their “finale” costumes of their respective films dancing around Cinderella’s pumpkin.

If I had to pick between this show, Dream Big, and the show I’ve seen twice before, Mickey’s Search Party I definitely liked this one more. There wasn’t a Disney Junior plot overall and no MCs. (Beyond Mickey and Minnie just saying a hint on the next story but for like a minute it was never long) That aided the show a lot. There was so much more stories told and songs performed. Although the acrobatics of Mickey’s Search Party is really cool.

But, I might be biased because I love the princess films. Thank you all for reading the blog! I’ll have the vlog on YouTube soon.
