So here's an example how how I control both the head and neck, by only using the head control. My initial reasoning for rigging it this way was that it made animating and pose much more efficient. So if you think about it, when we move our neck, it's almost impossible without our head moving. So it's almostl like our head is what's actually moving that causing our neck to be able to move freely. Try moving your neck while holding your head in place, pretty hard to do. So in order to be able to move, rotate and stretch the neck by controlling only the head bone, I have the "stretch to" constraint for the neck up to be head control. I've found that this method gives more realistic deformations, especially for more extreme positions.


I've reorganized some of the bone in the bone layer to help clean up the viewport a bit more, included a little example towards the end of the video of how the eyeslids and eyebrows can be posed.
