About the next JDMOD (Patreon)
Content
Hello friends,
At the start of year, I made a poll to choose the next game I would mod: The Adventurous Couple won the poll but, since it was getting a revamp, I decided to mod the second place game High-Rise Climb first.
I spent most of January working on it. Despite the game not being mod friendly imho (SmokeyDots has very little experience and hardcoded everything: Rewriting the entire in-game menu ended up being easier than modifying it, ...), I was making slow but steady progress. Then, real life happened... twice. Then, I discovered I had missed some interactions between scenes and needed to check everything again.
2 weeks ago, HCR 0.6 was released. It took me less than 2 minutes to realize that updating the mod would be even more painful than making it was... and I gave up! I'm used to modding not being 100% fun but, this time, it's not worth it.
During the past 2 weeks, I've been spending time working on the TAC JDMOD.
My plans for the future are:
- Update the KoD JDMOD and KoD Walkthrough ;
- Release the unfinished version of the HCR JDMOD ;
- Explain the situation to SmokeyDots and give them some tips ;
- Release the TAC JDMOD. The revamped Chapter 1 is a standalone: should I release a mod for this version only before completing the 9 other chapters?
Currently, I'm also considering about switching to a new page to benefit from Patreon's change to processing fees :
- For Supporters for the Present: 33% → 15%
- For Supporters for the Future: 13% → 9%
I'm not been been a big fan of paying Paypal and others double what i've been paying Patreon:
The rate is 10-15% because of shared patronage.
1 week 'til the final GoT season: how are you guys holding up?
