Meant to post this yesterday...

Over my recent vacation I was thinking about my bad creative habits:
1. Making projects much bigger than they need to be
2. Hanging onto old ideas when it's probably better to focus on new ones
3. Rushing and not being happy with the results later

These all lead to procrastination, overthinking and distractions - when I really just want to have fun drawing.

A while ago, I told myself that if I was going to engage in these bad habits, they needed to directly contribute to actually finishing work quickly. So I decided to draw some very short 12-Inch pages that are based on the original storyboard-like 12-Inch drawings - which were done really fast with no plan in mind.

My focus being, writing really quick punchlines that did not require drawing 12 pages of story, while also applying the new designs and test driving the character's new motivations.

The mistake I made here is that I kept jumping from bonus strip to bonus strip and therefore never made a "final" version of any of them. So, I consider this my first "final". Meaning, I don't plan on going back in to tweak it. I may add a second or third page to the story or maybe it will become the inspiration for a larger story, but I'm telling myself: "Goal achieved."
