Contrary to popular opinion, Abel Boddy was not set in New York. It's actually in a fictional city that's more like Portland or Austin or Midtown Atlanta. Dickey D's was the longstanding neighborhood gay bar, which was located on the gay strip on Bailey Avenue. It's pedestrian friendly. There's no subway, but there is a local trolley.

Pretty simple outfit on Howard here, but it's one of my favorites. The color of the shirt, the cigarette pants, the white shoes. Throw in some hastily rolled cuffs and a flyaway collar and we're good to go.

Vance (aka "Hot Vance") was a minor supporting character that I introduced here, he only popped up once or twice after. He's based on 2 people I knew back then, both were very social and super popular (the 3rd strip is based on actual events) but despite all of that, very attractive in a way that was undeniable. The pink hair, black tank, blue camo and lock necklace were very specific choices.

At one point I was going to put Vance on a reality TV/TV personality/influencer path. And reveal he had either  a husband that was ten years older or ten years younger (maybe both!).
