In the last year, I've taken two storyboard classes - both were really informative and really good but I didn't really do the work in either of them. I chalked it up to "It's hard to do homework when you have a day job", "My new puppy is a real distraction" - pretty much any excuse that I could come up with. Ultimately, I have a really hard time drawing if I don't like whats coming out of my pencil and storyboarding requires you to let go of your preconceived notions of what "looks good" in favor of clear storytelling.

Also, sitting in these virtual rooms with these young ambitious, talented kids who did amazing work was a huge reminder that you should always go the extra mile when doing any type of work. If you think: "This is good enough..." then you probably should make it a little better.

ANYWAYS... earlier this week I told myself: "Just sit the fuck down and draw a board no matter how you feel about the drawings." So a few mornings this week I did 7 panels over my morning coffee and it was a nice reminder how much you can get done by focusing just a little bit of regular time on something.

But in the spirit of getting over the hump of self-doubt, I should probably make it a little better... So, I'll be keep plugging away at this scene - but make the next drawing clearer and maybe I'll make a little animatic with some scratch audio idk we'll see.

New 12-Inch comic stuff next week!
