Dev Diary #June 2021 pt1 (Patreon)

It has been far too long since my last official dev diary! 😳I think I’ll start with a quick recap of recent events

v0.3.6b After-Action Report:

As you know, last month brought 2 updates - combining to form the mega update of the Cole route. Lol - it’s strange to think I originally planned the Cole update as a small one, because when I came to actually write it there was so much I wanted to say!

It looks as if the update was extremely popular - and that the plan to have 8 routes [well, 6 proper routes and 2 mini-ones] went down well! I loved writing it that way - it was really fun to explore Cole’s personality from multiple angles and bring out all the facets of this confused young man! My only regret was that I wasn‘t able to make the Bailey section as large as originally intended [I’d wanted to do the Cole-Bailey flashback as a 100 pic story of their love affair, but it would have ruined the flow of the conversation and I had to cut it back].

It looks as thought the Friend and Lover routes have proved the most popular - partly because the Sub, Cuck, Bully and Dom routes were ‘harder’ than some of you had imagined they might be. For me, the weight of baggage between Cole and MC - and Cole’s damaged personality - made that a necessity. From reports, it looks like most players whose natural kink-sets led to these routes felt satisfied with the way I managed them. For anyone looking for ‘softer’ Sub and Dom routes, I recommend taking Lover and self-managing that relationship through the dialogue options and Top/Bottom sex Positions 😜

I should also add a coda to the internet drama you saw in the last week of May. I feel as if a weigh has been lifted off my shoulders by removing myself from an increasingly toxic situation on F95Zone - and have been able to spend some time improving my Discord. I’ve added a bunch of new channels, added some proper rules, appointed some extra mods, and brought a surge of new users on board - including some devs and artists you may know from other games! The drama has also sparked me into forming a few new and interesting alliances across the adult gaming community. I’m currently in advanced negotiations with several potential contributors to SpaceCorps - of which you’ll be hearing more about later. I’ve also set up a really fun Patron-Only crossover with a developer many of you will be familiar with that should be ready by the end of the month!

Current Stuff:

Right now, I’m mainly working on the v0.3.7 Cis update - and am still largely in the groundwork stage. That won’t be out this month - and looks likely to be released at the end of July on current progress. It won’t be as big as the Cole one - more like the size of the Sam and Fatima updates - but will have meat for all, including m/m and m/f routes. Music lovers should know that the soundtrack will be mainly country, given Ci-Ci’s cowgirl stylings! 🤠

I‘m hoping to release a technical update before then - either right at the end of the month or at the start of next. That will include a range of bug fixes [going all the way back to the start of the game!] and Integrated walkthroughs for the Anna and Cole conversations. Hopefully I’ll be able to fill in some Personnel Files while I’m at it, too! 

As far as Patron content, you should be expecting a character poll coming up soon, and the Cross-Over I mentioned earlier. I’m also planning a short bisexual mini comic featuring Jared Cole Sr and and a couple of new characters… just as a bit of fun on the side! 😁

Final Note:

As some of you know, I’m currently spending a week in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - staying in a cottage with a few friends and spending the days in healthy pursuits like walking, and the nights in unhealthy pursuits like eating and drinking too much 😆 After some of the stresses of the last month, I’m finding getting away really beneficial - mainly in terms or relaxing and clearing my mind - but I’ve also had some quality time to firm up the Cis update script without the pressure of making 10-12 images per day. I’ll still be around to chat and answer any questions you might have - but be aware that the answers might be a little slower than usual, because I may be walking up a mountain in the rain, or on a lochside with my notepad!

Anyway - that’s probably enough of my ramblings for now…
