Hello Crew! Time for another of my woefully infrequent Dev Diaries! 😁

Well, the update’s coming along very nicely – all images are rendered and all but a fraction of the dialogue is in place! 😜(lol - part of the reason I’m writing this is to put off the testing and editing for another hour! Procrastination rules! 😂)

But there are a number of things that I need to keep you guys in the loop about – most exciting, one a massive pain in the arse which requires some grovelling. 😬 So, in line with all scummy PR advice I’ll do it in the manner of a compliment sandwich 🥪 – good news, bad news, then more good news in the hope it distracts you from the bad news!

Good News:

Collaboration with other artists is proving a major success! 🐺Nykwolf has produced an amazing set of 24 images 🍆🍆🍆 and they are gorgeous! (you can see some teasers in the posts below). This is mainly for futa-fans, and I’ll be coding and writing them up into a mini-comic the moment the update’s out! 🎬

Meanwhile, 💪🏻DazSwole (also in the posts below) is undertaking an extremely ambitious project to make his sexy m/m anthro-alien love story between Mechanic (1st Class) Ta’ar and Flight-Lieutenant Cassius into a fricking animation!!! 😍Obvs that’s gonna take a while (animations are pretty resource intensive) but it is gonna be awesome both as a piece in its own right and as an expansion of the SpaceCorps universe. 🚀

And as a side-note, that inspired me to get an actual animation of my own into the update – it’s nowhere near as ambitious or sexy as Swole’s project… but I’m pretty pleased that it actually worked! 🤪

Bad News:

MC’s haircut. Oh shit. 😱

Yup – this is pretty bad news (as in, RanliLabz is overturning democracy, risking revolution and facing the guillotine). I’ve found out that the winner of the MC haircut poll (the Jock haircut, see the posts in Polls) has a major flaw and can’t be used. Basically, it won’t render properly in batches (i.e. when you just set a whole load of renders to churn out overnight it doesn’t load properly and ends up halfway up his face rather than on his head). That would mean I could only render it individually, which would add significant amounts of time to the workload and the time between updates. 😭

I’m extremely sorry that I didn’t catch this before putting it up for a vote (it was tested, but only on single renders rather than batch) and feel like a real douche for having to cancel your decision. 😢 Instead, in v0.2.6, MC will be returning to his original haircut from the start of the game (the second most voted option). Sorry! Don’t guillotine me! I have kids! (Well, I don’t – but I might if you don’t guillotine me!) 😲

More Good News!

Look over here! A fluffy dog! 🐩 No need to remember anything I was just talking about!

This is specifically about the v0.2.5 update, and I wanted to let you guys know that I’ve been getting some assistance! 👤Major RampantShadow (you can see some of his graphics in previous posts) has been helping take some of the workload off my shoulders with some extra graphics and code that have sped up development significantly! More about this and what he’s got planned on the dev front when we reach the next goal and I can give the poor, overworked bugger a bit of money for all his help! 💸 (Lots of fancy stuff tho! All happening behind the scenes to let me get on with content instead of reading through Python manuals that I don’t understand! 😖)

And speaking of content, I enjoyed 🥵Major Umbreeyoree’s fan-fic over on Discord so much that I asked him to write the dialogue for two short sequences in the update… which he very kindly agreed to do! His contribution was just as amusing and off-the-wall as I'd hoped for!

Actually, it’ll be interesting to see if you can tell which bits he wrote – a prize for the first to guess! 🏆 I don’t know what prize… porn probably. Yes! The winner can nominate any two characters from the game engaging in any kink from the game if they spot the difference! (1 pic only.) I should make this a regular thing! 😃
