Thankfully Patreon has allowed me the ability to make a post to notify you all about this, but essentially my account has been suspended and I will not be allowed to withdraw any pledges until this is resolved.

I have removed the posts in question, as requested by the claimants, but whether or not Patreon will unsuspend my account is still unknown.

More than ever, I recommend linking your Patreon account to your Discord, which should automatically add you to the Animaechan server.

My Twitch stream will resume as usual tomorrow night https://www.twitch.tv/animaechan

I will make sure sub chat is off after the first ten minutes, so that we can talk about things if you have any questions.

Copyright/Fair Use Issues | Patreon Accounts Suspended

Have you ever started an anime/manga, because an online creator was reacting to or reviewing it? (similar questions below) You can read this if that's easier for you than listening: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YlfubIKNKCx9qbaPVrzUX7_Mjx_3LBGNJvii8W2c-U4/edit?usp=sharing Her is the Video/Content Creator I referenced: https://youtu.be/BZM_Jxj_Y5c (wow, I didn't realize it's been more than a year ago!) What do you guys think about a "reaction/review license"? E.g. I would pay X amount of money to be allowed to react to or review a show (with clear rules/guidelines of how I can use the copyrighted content). Do you think reacting to (or reviewing shows) is similar to gameplay content? Does it encourage others to play/watch, or do you think the copyright owners lose money as a result? Let's talk!

I hope things will turn out okay soon, but in the mean time no one will be charged, and I'm sure that if they decided to keep me suspended, they will issue refunds.

Jeez. This is like the 7th patreon reactor that got hit with this today. That I know of at least.

(because of this - everyone being hit on the same day) it seems to me like Patreon must have been working with Viz/Aniplex long in advance and given them access to our accounts in order to make these claims. I think it would have been more fair to remove the content, give us the opportunity to contest at least (to argue for fair use, even if they disagree), and then take things from there. But to immediately suspend multiple accounts? It seems excessive

matthew bremmer

One reactor I follow even had timer reactions tagged and their account suspended. Another uses dropbox for reactions, and today the links related to vix/aniplex reactions are broken (and not by them), but they didn't get suspended yet. This is wild. Feel bad for all of you.

This is so annoying. I hate when these things happen and I'm sorry it happened to you. It just plain sucks! I don't really know how I should feel about this yet, but I'm starting to really resent some of these companies.

they don't care at all about being fair or consistent. they just want to throw their weight around, hurting the little guys. bc they can actually do nothing about actual pirate sites putting up the same content in full HD for anyone to watch
