Honestly... 0/10 episode and 0/10 ending..... JUST KIDDING! but I saw that manga panel in the past with Himeno kissing Denji and vomiting in his mouth. I feel sooo sorry for those people who were watched it as they might have eating during that seen or just have a weak stomach and starting to vomit. Luckly I have a STORONG stomach so I'm save. lol

Matthew B

lmao I was so waiting for this.

oh god...Gintama did not prepared me well enough for that barf kiss

luckily I've watched a lot of gintama 😏 but I don't think people with a stomach that weak is watching a show with this much blood and guts anyway hahahha

I just found out (in youtube comments) age of consent in japan is 13. That was quite shocking to me!

Matthew B

It is 13 by national penal law. But, every prefecture can set its own age of consent that overrides the penal law, and almost universally it is set at 18. Very rural areas follow the national penal law still.

is it difficult to change the national "penal" law? what's a penal law? lol i'm just wondering why that exists if each prefecture can make it's own laws anyway. if most is "universally set at 18" anyway, why not just change the national penal law? seems like it could be used as a loophole or something by bad lawyers to help certain people get away with bad things. (ps. this reply isn't to do with CSM I'm just wondering in general about modern times/why they don't just change it today if it "defaults" to 18 anyway)

Robert

Its similar to "federal law" in the US. They basically say you can't go past the "penal" law but within that, its your choice. So a prefecture can't say the age of consent for them is 12. Because it would violate penal law. But 14, 15 technically even higher than 18 would be fine. If they say its 21 for them also fine. The reason for that is usually the local differences in culture. Federal or Penal law is basically the last line you can't cross. To change penal law takes a lot more than changing the local laws. Which is why they usually don't change for a very long time. You would have to convince the highest level of government to change those. And depending on the situation and the law you are trying to change, that can become almost impossible.

So I also read someone say that even if the age of consent is 13, that doesn’t necessarily mean someone that’s 20 can sleep with a 13 or 15 yo. It just means someone that’s 14 can choose to be with a 13 yo or something like that. But idk how true that is. Anyway, I spoke to Yuki and she wasn’t even aware of this penal law. She said she doesn’t think anyone would think that’s okay (for a grown person to sleep with someone underage, underage meaning anyone younger than 18)

Robert

I am not a 100% sure but i think your information is correct. This penal law does not mean you can just sleep with a 13 year old no matter how old you are. It means you can legally have sex with another minor at that age. Although even 13 and 17 would still be a bit weird. I think this penal law is just an old thing that nobody ever bothered changing because the local laws changed it anyway. Am quite certain that you couldn't be with a minor anywhere in Japan, not legally that is. So yeah i think you got it right.

FluidDruid

It's probably the same as in Germany, where the age of consent is below 18 but only if the partner is close to the age of the person in question, I think it was about 2 years older at most. So no 14 yo dating 50 yo bs.
