It is curious that you feel that they are being too intimate, I have always been like that with my close friends so it doesn't really seem romantic in the slightest to me, matter of fact I thought the gag was that it was obvious that it was a friend thing (Like Kaguya helping Ishigami) and Fujiwara and Kaguya thought the opposite out of miscomunication. Then again in my country is pretty normal to be emotionally close with friends and I really have no interest in participating in romantic or sexual relationships so maybe my view of it is kinda warped, but I do think the whole thing felt pretty platonic

I don't think they tried to make us feel that something more was going to happen between the president and Hayasaka because the president doesn't show any feelings for her, zero. no danger there, he only has feelings for Kaguya and I feel for Hayasaka because she was practically born as a servant in Kaguya's family, wanting to experience a more normal life and meanwhile having to obey Kaguya in her machinations to do that the president confess and is wasting time on it. I get kind of disgusted with this situation of practically "slavery" of Hayasaka in Kaguya's family. Which is not similar with the other girl who likes her friend's boyfriend, she is not obliged to do what her friend wants to avoid confessing that she likes the guy.
