I wasn’t asking about the meaning, I was asking about the numbers. 30 in total, 9 and 4. I didn’t know what the 9 was. But I’ll ask a mod.

I like reaction videos, but I kinda understand what Toei is saying. There is the idea of fair use in the West, but at the end of the day, it is the animation company that holds all the copyrights, and if they feel that a video infringes on their copyrights, it is only natural that the video will be removed. I believe that the owner's opinion should be respected first and foremost in everything, not just copyright. And I've seen several his videos, and he doesn't seem to have done much in the way of copyright protection, like hiding the screen, editing, etc. Speaking of history, a decade ago, streaming services were not as developed as they are today, so the only way to watch anime outside of Japan was to watch it on TV or DVD. As a result, pirate anime was rampant outside of Japan, and no matter how much the popularity of Japanese anime increased, it didn't have much of an impact on sales. As a result, Japanese animators were not paid enough. The reason why Toei and other Japanese animation companies have become so strict about copyright protection is to crack down on pirate animation and protect Japanese animators. In fact, the number of illegal sites getting decreasing than it used to be, and the treatment of animators in Japan has improved. Some people claim that reaction videos contribute to the popularity of anime, but to be honest, I don't know, because I don't have clear data on that.

Obviously the owner of the content has the last say, the point I was making is that Toei is for some reason more strict than most places (like AOT or Naruto rarely had copyright issue compared to how Toei goes about it), so him doing the video is good because it can start a conversation. You say “you don’t have data on this topic” - precisely. We will not get data if we don’t talk about it and figure things out. Clearly it’s possible to contribute to the popularity. In the same way that people watch others play sports or games. That doesn’t mean you don’t want to play the game yourself. And sports fans will spend thousands on sports shows and merchandise because the fandoms are big and competitive. Reactors and reviewers and artists that make fan art etc all contribute to that. But the only way to gain information and data and make a decision on this stuff is to talk about it. The conversation has to start somewhere so we can eventually (hopefully) get better fair use rules that benefit the industry and us. You think fortnite would have been as popular as it is/was if people didn’t watch someone like ninja and also smaller streamers play and compete? Just because you watch someone play the game doesn’t mean you won’t play it and spend money on it. Similarly, when you watch an anime, you want to see others react to it and talk to others about it. It builds hype and makes the community closer and more loyal to the show. These are just some of my thoughts but of course the owner has the last say. But any business has to have open discourse with it’s consumers and adapt/grow based on changed trends possibly.

crème brûlée? But crème brûlée doesn’t burn itself 😅 you have to torch it. Oda can do whatever he wants ofc, this is fiction. I like creative reasons behind things (like brook’s “ice” in some of his moves bc “cold as death”). But to me the crème brûlée man is… just another power which makes use of fire for not really a great reason imo 😅 there’s another character called brûlée and she has the mirror fruit… does this guy have the crème brûlée fruit? I don’t get it I guess hahahaa I like most of the OP powers and fruits but this is just not one of those that I like 🙈

Oh you forgot… don’t want to spoil I’m going to be quiet

LazyBunn

Trying so hard not to spoil for you, but every time you ask a question or point out something I just want to tell you.

You can talk about that on discord, without tagging Animaechan obviously if it has a spoiler. But if you really want to, you can talk about it there with the other users. Have fun! 👋

I think the difference between Sanji and Robin's situation is one thing: except for the SH, Robin has nothing to lose, while on the other hand, Sanji still has Jeff. Robin could just wait for SH to be safe then sacrifice herself, do whatever she wants - like when she talked to Iceburg - she doesn't care about the world, she only care about SH. But with Sanji, Luffy and the SH can defend themself against BM, but what about Jeff... nothing.
