I'm kinda sad to hear that you were dissapointed on Jiraiya's death beacuse you expected "great visuals" for it... but like I don't think it needed that much here! the OST and the voice acting made THAT scene really impactful for lot of fans! the Asuma death didn't hit me that much because we barely saw him in OG Naruto (the filler arc that you watched with the Sora guy was the only thing you could learn more about Asuma's past but you know not too many people watching filler... 🤷‍♂️) unlike Jiraiya we had time to know more about his character before all this Pain stuff. Back in OG Naruto we saw him most of the time with Naruto teaching him the summoing jutsu and the rasengan plus the 2 and the half year training even thought we didn't see too much just flashbacks to the tranings. I hope you reading this KT just to give you more details that you might forgot or just didn't think about it in the video! 🙏😄 Keep up the great work!

I think a lot of reactors were annoyed at the ideology of Pain at this point. Pain is a very well written character in my opinion. Obviously hindsight plays a part in this. There are not enough sceptics when it comes to reactions, that is certainly noteworthy. It is refreshing to hear different opinions on iconic anime like Naruto.

Miguel

You shall know pain. I hope you see this and roll your eyes 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my favorite part of your reactions

Shanks solos

You shall know Pain..

This episode is very impactful for me and made me love jiraiya as a character. Moreover, I think ost and emotion is perfect so that I don't really care the visual is “perfect” or not. It’s the reason that I don’t agree with you.

The visuals of this arc/ fight were awesome and some of the cleanest we've seen so far in the show. Would it be awesome for every fight to be like Naruto vs Sasuke in part 1 - yes but I rarely take that away from the story or deaths of a character. Also, the death of Jiraiya fits the narrative of what a Shinobi is, giving one's life for the village, and Jiraiya's goal in this fight is to get information about 'Pain' because he knew it was impossible to defeat 'pain'. There was a lot of red flags in this arc, the biggest red flag is when he was talking to Tsunade,

Michael

Poor Tsunade now the only one remaining out of the three legendary sannins.

I can actually understand what you mean between comparing Asuma and Jiraiya’s deaths. I think the big thing here is that Asuma was surrounded by people he loved like his students who he could have a final convo with. Jiraiya pretty much died alone with only a frog we just met there to witness it. Jiraiya had no one to interact with in his final moments, it was all in his head.

Skorpan

Pain is a really cool character - when you're 15. I loved him when I was a kid but watching it back now I cringe pretty hard from his dialogue. Anyway, I thought Jiraiya's death was good and I don't think it makes any sense to compare it to Asuma's because they share nothing except that they're both dying. Every other piece of relevant context is completely different. Also, there's no rule that says every death has to be some big unexpected surprise, so saying the long and obvious lead up is for the kids' sake is a bit of a lazy nonsense argument.

animaechan

🤦‍♀️ yeah I’ll respond to this next week. It’s fair to compare for various reasons, mostly bc it’s my review and it’s fair for me to wonder why one scene hit me harder than the other considering jiraiya is a bigger character in context of the main character’s life.

Sadly, the death of Jiraya was spoiled for me pretty early (before i even watched the first episode of Ship*uden), so it had basically no impact for me. But at least you finally know Pain. He (they?) introduced himself (themselves?) multiple times in the last couple of episodes.

Anonymous

Yeah, I got spoiled. But, the more I watch it and let it 'soak' in, the more it hurts.

Jack Shadow

That true animaechan, most unexpected character death happening without warning, like in Harry Potter: Sirius Black, Dambldor, Sedrik Digory, with Jiraya case it was obvious Also Pain Plan could work...he didn't tell everything for now.

Jack Shadow

Talking about Jiraya's death and Jiraya's life, I think people actually miss the real point of Jiraya choice. Because of fact that Jiraya travelled threw whole world he met all those future Pain hosts(as you call em Kayla), so only Jiraya could understand the true meaning behind Pain. So that was main idea on sending Jiraya on quest, which lead him to Pain. So basically Pain could became what he became even without Jiraya and his help. Actually if Pain didn't met Jiraya it could be that no one would be able to learn truth behind his name. But that idea actually sunk, case clearly you could say that he better should run away with that info that already gathered. So I will say that moment of Jiraya's choice was ruined by decision after getting enough intel not run away, just to die...with getting whole info. So it was dumb indeed

Kevin Kovacs

I don't think it was dumb at all... like the village will know the information about Pain's secret(s) now that Fukasaku has it! and it helped a LOT to the leaf! so when you saying he died dumb then you saying that the "real" ninjas always die for no reason. Jiraiya blamed himself a lot of things that turned out like this and he was try to do his best but he failed at the end of the day which makes a lot of people sad that he died thinking about all this but thanks to him we have Naruto but I don't want to go too deep on it here with you but I think you understand the main thing here. :)

Hello! I'm new-ish, just wanted to let ya know that I love your reactions. Very witty, funny, wise, and insightful! :D

animaechan

I'm really happy you enjoy my videos! thank you so much! And since you're new, welcome :)) i hope you'll enjoy your time here! there's lots to watch hehe

Kautuk Nag

Yeah, its obviously a series where people tend to project their own feelings so ofcourse they have different reactions. However, Pain's goal is not a pipe dream in theory. We have no major wars because of nukes and we have seen the result of using nukes.
