Kyros is basically what Gabi from AOT did. They kill for revenge, but somehow you're not satisfied on how they punish kyros.

Josh Lomax

What they did to Kyros is still very common in the real world. If a kid has violent tendencies, they will sometimes be put into Boxing or MMA,which teaches discipline, hard work and allows them to get out their pent up aggression in a controlled environment. Obviously what happened to Kyros is more extreme with the involvement of murder and that he wasn't really given a choice but the lessons he learned were the same. As for the whole "can't marry a criminal" thing, it has nothing to do with the citizens of Dressrosa, as they would except Kyros in a heart-beat, but it has to do with other Kingdoms that are allied with Dressrosa, who might not want to be allied with them if a criminal is gonna be their next King. Scarlett can't just up and disappear, there would be questions, so faking her death is the most logical solution.

king riku reconized that kyros had talent for the sword and fight, so he focused on using that talent for something... "constructive" lol if you can call gladitorial games something contructive, maybe is constructive for people like kyros, that's what he knew how to do well. at least is what i think
