Today's Trivia: If you listen closely, Otose-san and Kagura keep calling Gin "tenpa", which in Japanese is slang for curly natural hair (because of Gin's wavy/"permed" hair that is always stuck that way). Crunchy roll sometimes translates it as "moppy head" like in the Catherine episode. Throughout the series, they've also used "Permanent Perm" (paamanento paamu). Likewise, "Zura" in Japanese means Wig/Toupee. And yes, it is no coincidence that Katsura's nickname is the same word. The whole point of his catchphrase -- "Zura ja nai, Katsura da!" -- is that it sounds like him saying his (beautiful) long hair is not, in fact, fake or phony, it is 100% natural... you might even mistake him for a woman. Who knew Gintama had so much hair-related wordplay? The same logic applies to the [Ka]Gura-san joke. KT figured this out a long time ago while watching earlier episodes, but Japan says "gurasan" for sunglasses. They love to shorten and combine, mix-and-match words don't they? Donmai! Donmai! Even the Famicom is a combination of "Family" and "Computer" because that's how Nintendo wanted to market the game console in 1981. So while we here in the States grew up with it known as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), in Japan it was called a different name, looked a different way, and even had unique features (like a microphone in the game controller). The Twin Famicom they bring up in the episode never made it over here; it was exclusively in Japan. It has the Disk System, so you could play both your old existing Famicom games and exclusive better looking ones on the Disk System. As a gamer nerd 1st and an anime nerd 2nd, watching this episode back in the day was HILARIOUS (and still is) because of all the Nintendo, Sega, and Sony references. (And Shenmue did finally get its 3rd game released... Last year. On the PS4. After Yu Suzuki crowdfunded its development. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shenmue_III)

He's just saying it took a long time for the Patreon post to be made. The links were posted on Discord more than 24 hours earlier. I'm not complaining or criticizing btw, just clarifying what he meant. 😋

what i meant was that the links were posted in the discord 24 hrs ago and was uploaded late here so I thought something was wrong with my patreon before I saw this post
