HEEEEIIDIIIIIII!! "A Dog of Flanders" and "Heidi" are some of the most popular pieces of Western fiction that have infiltrated the minds of the general populace of Japan. They're akin to Hans Christian Andersen's the Little Mermaid for lots of Americans. I recall numerous occasions where you've mentioned watching the anime version of Heidi growing up, so I was looking forward to this reaction ever since! Heidi, Peter, Joseph, Yuki-chan, Clara, Grampa! But this episode was also a big spoof on the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series by Capcom. "Objection!" Which itself is a game series that kind of eloquently pokes fun at the absurdity of Japanese law. Yes, that twisted logic you saw here in the episode is the kind of baseless accusations that can take place in a Japanese court. The Ace Attorney series is a really good series to play (like a more interactive Visual Novel). It's pretty much on every platform I can think of. Madao is definitely one of my top Gintama characters. It's good to see you pick up on his progression. Though, guilty as charged, his self-deprecating is a hilarious uproar every time. It just makes me like him even more. Optimistic, bright-eyed characters are cool and all, but I really vibe with the realistic, down-to-earth everyday guys. All Madaos out there, raise your hands! Also, the Ultimate Muscle stuff. My first introduction to this anime series was the dubbed episodes by 4Kids alongside Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Like most things though, it's got more of a history in Japan with more Japanese fans. Other than that brief period of time in the early 2000's, I don't believe it ever caught on here in the States. Definitely one of my favorites in the Gintama line-up. Memorable and funny. The anime is hitting its stride and and only going up from here (in my humble opinion). A remember, this is around 2008 the anime said, so exactly right around the time when One Piece was doing Thriller Bark - and I was hardcore into all of it.
