To clarify the thing about Subaru going back with Return By Death, Rem gets name+memories eaten at the end of the scene with the two archbishops (which is a flashback), and the new checkpoint Subaru gets is after this happened since Emilia doesn't know Rem already. He can't do anything, so everything plays out the same.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I thought :) except it doesn’t seem to play out exactly the same since Crusch doesn’t lose her arm, but instead loses her memories

I think Crusch still loses her arm in that scene, but Felis heals it or reattaches it since he was mentioned to be the "best healer in the kingdom" or something like that in season 1. And everyone that didn't die in that encounter is said to have suffered either from memory loss or be in the same state as Rem, so I guess the archbishop of gluttony ate Crusch's memories while she was laying unconscious without an arm. Maybe there will be some dialogue in the next episode to hint more at the arm healing thing?

Yeah! i was waiting for this reaction and your point of view! nice first impression towards the archbishops. About the specials... I think the second OVA it's more important to watch before going too deep into this season... maybe?. The first one its better to see it after this season because right now would ruin the mood this season has put into this first episode... but that's just a personal opinion. Please correct me if my english is wrong i am still learning.

The memory snow OVA isn't super important, but the Frozen Bonds OVA definitely is.

Loved your reaction, but don't read the manga, read the web/light novel, is the original source and is increibly fun, i'm currently in arc 5 , the first season was arc 1 to 3 and season two will be the adaptation of arc 4.
