It feels so good seeing them all work together like this after so many arcs of them going psycho and killing each other.

You know, Higurashi shows almost perfectly how those " Child welfare offices" work. Sure, it Shows the Year 1983, there were a lot of Things other like today maybe, but still. A very good Example is the Child welfare office here in Germany ( or we call it in German " Jugendamt" which could be translated roughly to Youth Welfare Office) There are indeed some Cases were they rescued Children from abusive Parents or from other Critical Conditions... But on the other Hand.... i dont know how often you can read in Newspaper etc. that a Little Child died in a Family from Abuse or other Things despite the Fact that they watched the Family. The only Thing you can read is mostly " We didnt saw the need to make a Move" or " It was unexpected that this and that happens, because we didnt saw it before ". Then, on the other Hand.... those Pieces of Shit ( Sry for it, but i dont like them, thankfully nothing happend in my Family like this) take so often Children out of Happy Familys, despite the Fact that nothing ever happend, either because they say " Some gave use a Warning that the Child is abused" and they take the Child/Children away without checking it up beforehand, or they check the Family, and still take the Children. There was a Case around 10 Years ago, i think... but i cant remember the Name of the Girl. She was abducted by the German Child welfare office. First her Parents were Controlled, then they said that she was abused ( because she had some Bruises from Playing outside with her Friends, she was 9 or 10 Years old at the Time), her Father is a Alcoholic ( because they had 2 Beer Bottles in the Fridge, that her Father sometime drank 1 after his Work) and other such Things. Then, 1 Day, 2 People from the youth welfare office came to her School, and the School Director called for her , and those 2 said she will be taken away now from her Parents and she should come with them without Questioning. She didnt wanted it, and tryed to call her Parents with her Phone. Those 2 Grabbed forcefully her Hands, take the Phone away and deactivated it. Then they almost pushed her into the Car and were driving to an Orphanage? ( We call them Kinderheim, Childrens Home if you translate it like this) that was over 250km away from her Hometown. She was there over half a Year before she escaped from there and thankfully came home to her Parents. The youth welfare office then said the Parents abducted her, so they fled to Poland. The Girl said, in that " Orphanage" Children were drugged if they were to loud or didnt do what the People there said. They werent allowed to Write Letters, receive Calls or Call anyone, and if they were to late after School ( even 5-10 Mins) they were punished (they looked the Kids into there Rooms, often enough without giving them Food). Here is a Video about such a Case. I know it has no Subtitels, but to take it short, the Child Welfare Office take forcefully the Child out of this Home. They even use the Police to break into there House, push down the Mother ( they even spray Pepper Spray into her Eyes, because she wants to protect her Child). By around 0:43 you can hear the Child shouting " That is my Mama let her go". The Policeman says sometimes " Take the Handy down and stop filming or i get angry". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njt8Ioad5F4 Im really sry for the Long Comment ^^

I dont know if anyone has told you about this or not, but starting from the next arc, there are after credit scenes right after the ending song for every episodes onwards, so you should resume watching past the ending song for the next arc. Just a heads up here

The second opening is probably my favorite. But I think I like it more because of what I know of the characters and their struggle up to now. As a pure opening, OP1 seems like the one that would win from a blind reaction. My impression of Satako was that she's incapable of admitting her own abuse. Even if everyone tried their hardest, even if everyone extended a hand to her, I think the vibe I was getting was one of futility, like another dead end. Whether it be due to her illness, or because of Satoshi leaving, or helplessness... I wouldn't be able to pin down one specific reason. That scene with her coming to school stood out in particular to me. But then the other half of the problem was seemingly all this bureaucratic red tape blocking the way. The Child Center people tip-toeing around the problem, the Local Affairs people not giving a shit, the Hinamizawa Council too afraid of their own shadows to even give a damn... Like, it was suffocating! Seeing Keiichi tear down wall after wall was a breath of fresh air. Which, probably was the point? This whole scenario would lead you to believe behavior like this might be a common, systematic thing in Government offices -- the process of turning a blind eye. So then, you gotta take a stab at the head and make sure not to miss. The Sonozaki influence apparently runs deeper than one would think at first glance.

The 2nd OP song being called "Flower in Hell" is so fitting and sad. I think I'm still team 1st OP though. Either way, they're both great openings.

*violently scratches at neck in anticipation for next week* ALSO! I'm team opening 2 and team ending 2! Ending 2 is just so special and unique of a sound... too bad the band didn't get any sort of recognition at all and had to break up. :(
