Hey I was wondering... I think I remember you saying you only planned to do season two. But I was wondering if you might reconsider watching at least episodes 2, 3, & 4 of Higurashi Rei? They aren't exactly required or anything, but they do add a good bit of extra detail and explains a few things about Hanyu that is not otherwise explained.

if you think it's worth it I will do my best to squeeze it in :3 please remind me towards the end

I love how Rika breaks the 4th wall and explains the different worlds. The Main Theme Kai is an awesome song, very immersive and misterious.

Remember! Be careful not to watch episode 10's preview when you get to it! Awesome reaction as usual. :)

Yea, I go back and forth on wondering why Rika doesn't try out more stuff. That seems natural to do, but then she said she's been living this for over 100 years so it's probably assumed that that's how she started and eventually she gave up on it after however many tries. But then again... in this episode she acts like Keiichi telling her about fighting fate is a new idea? Maybe it's just been so long since she's tried that it's giving her a second wind? Idk, I'm all over the place with this part. My heart broke the first time I heard she's been going through this for so long and I felt such a sense of dread and anxiety when she mentioned that the amount of time she gets is getting shorter and shorter.

It is a bit weird imo why she does not just tell everyone and just get outside help. If she has indeed been doing it by herself for 100 years I don't see whats the harm in trying that approach and see the results. I can only assume the reason she does it is that yh, she has done this sort of approach already, but her being so surprised after influencing keiichi to change the game it leaves me unsure.

Well i know how you feel, but dont forget its the Year 1983 and the old Police Man is something from the Old School. At that Time such Things like Psychological Things and such werent so far like today, either accepted by the Public or well known like today.

Mathias

I read on the WIki side, that in the Visual Novel the Things were more Explained and more detailed. She apparently tryed varius things, but after so many Failures, she gave up on all Kind of Things.

Chrisman148

Yhh makes sense. I remember years ago I read a manga chapter, where Rika was explaining the different world lines she experienced, and that too was in much more detail.

ednapls

Yeah. I'm currently playing the VN for another ryukishi07 work and the amount of detail compared to the manga and anime is just insane. There wouldn't be enough time in the world if they tried covering every single detail in the anime, unfortunately. :(

Mathias

Im thinking of playing it myself, but its one of many Visual Novels i want to read, so i think it needs some Time before i start the first one and all other after that. Also, if the Informations are true on VNDB, then Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ( the first Game) is listed with 30-50 Hours of Gameplay, while the Sequel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai is listed with more then 50 Hour as "Very Long". Then you have varius Side Storys and such. https://vndb.org/v67

Hanyuu doesn't knyow everything, she just knyows what she knyows.

I'm assuming you're aware of Umineko too @Mathias? If not (don't look up anything about it), then after you get around to playing Higurashi and Higurashi Kai, you gotta play Umineko no Naku Koro ni and Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru. The connections between the two series will blow your miiiind. It's one of the reasons why Higurashi is in my all-time favorites!

Mathias

Thx i will look to find it on vndb and mark it then.

I consider Umineko one of the best works of fiction I've ever encountered, however even googling its name is a bad idea and will probably immediately spoil you... I also recommend avoiding the Playstation ("new") openings since they spoil a lot of things, especially for the first episode. The original openings should be fine though. By the way, it is actually possible to get the whole Umineko experience by watching a silent playthrough on youtube (no comments from the watcher). The one from Dithiannin is really good, but it does contain the spoilery openings.

Prolly wont read since I am watching it late, but that moment when fate gets rejected in episode 6, such a great feeling right? :D
