ABOUT THE 1000 Patron Goal

We reached 1000 patrons quite a while ago, which is great! Thank you so much everyone! I'm currently looking for a place to move - obviously a place which already has fiber! Safety and good internet are my #1 priorities. I've been saving for a long time, and I'm still saving so that I can buy furniture and stuff (I don't have any of my own yet). I'm really excited for the move (aiming to move in by 1 February, if not earlier, but I would like some more time to save for a deposit) and I'll make sure to do a vlog type video to show you all what it looks like. Once again, thank you so much for helping me reach my goal!

Regarding HXH how about posting by arc or a monthly drop of episodes? Just throwing it out there but whatever you decide I'm happy to see you're sticking with it. Would've been a shame to stop watching right before Yorknew. Anyways keep up the good work!

I'm really glad you enjoy the HxH manga. It's one of my favorites. I remember when the 2011 anime started and after a few episodes I actually dropped the whole anime in disgust. This was because they skipped Gon's backstory and made it way more kid friendly compared to the manga and the 1999 anime (I also hated Kurapika's new voice lol). I only picked it up two years later so I could binge it. I really enjoyed it from later on.

Hi, I just watch a great theory about the “Kiddy” vibe of the first part of HxH by Mathwiz. Unfortunately, you can't watch it since his video is full of spoilers. I’m hesitant about the next part. You know the anime get darker later on. 😣 I know the show getting darker is in by itself a spoiler but I believe you already knew or guess as much.😣 Mathwiz said in the 2011 anime they deliberately tone down the anime to get a better contrast later on when it gets darker. I can see how effective it is but also how it doesn’t work at all for blind reaction of early episodes. I believe they want us to watch a casual shonen anime, a “kid show” then hit us in the later stage. However, it’s impossible with the fandom. Everybody goes in expecting something and we don’t get it. The characters are good and how they solve the conflict is good but the fandom what us to see greatness which is too much pressure and prevent us to simply enjoy the small thing. Also a lot of things small things in HxH are good only after you watch the rest of HxH. Hang in there is going to be better soon. Much Love.

I had the advantage to have seen the 1999 version before I watched the 2011 anime. In non of the adaptions I'm a big fan of the first two arcs but as I mentioned before the Butler scene in the Zoldyck arc creeped me out in the 1999 variant. The first arc for me is made much worse with the later introduction of Nen because now it makes no sense – why in the world does anyone allow people without Nen to participate in an exam where they have to fight each other? And the second arc felt either creepy but too long (1999) or nicely packed but not very impactful (2011).

Just a little request for the future.. you should make a poll with only animes that are from 2015 and below ... im proposin this because in most of the cases the new animes beat the old ones in the polls ( exceptions Like one piece and FMA are rare) so ... give it a though 😉... There are so mane jewels waiting for example ( macross frontier ... elfen lied... code geass... ouran host club... ) just of the top of my head.. greatings from peru ... and you are amanzing. 😁

The '99 version of HxH was dark in the beginning as well. On top of toning everything down, the new director just randomly turned the lights on in every scene, changed it to daytime randomly, and made peoples color palettes less dark. I think it had to do with the time slot it was in initially, but it was super frustrating when comparing it to the original.
