UPDATE - Openload VS Dailymotion (Patreon)
Content
A while back I posted a poll about what you prefer, Openload or Dailymotion. You can scroll down like 8 or 9 posts to see it but these were the results:
91 voted for Dailymotion.
39 voted for Openload.
I said afterwards (it was probably in a video or on Discord - so not everyone would have heard) that I want to take everyone into consideration. So I'd most likely upload to Dailymotion like 70% of the time and 30% onto Openload. Since I can't do both because my internet situation just wouldn't allow that. This is just my way of trying to make it easier for the majority that asked for Dailymotion, but also trying to accommodate those that prefer Openload.
Openload is beneficial too, because nothing ever gets blocked there so I don't have to mute opening or ending songs (which usually trigger copyright bots) + there are no daily upload limits.
Dailymotion is beneficial because there are no weird ads (I can turn off ads).
Both Openload and Dailymotion work in most locations, but not ALL. Usually this is fixed by switching to using Google Chrome, or changing your VPN - I have to do that for some websites (I live in South Africa) and I use hola!VPN which has a great free version https://hola.org/
Personally, ads don't bother me because just like on YouTube, I skip/close them LOL but many other people use adblockers. If anyone can suggest a good adblocker in the comments, that would be helpful.
I cannot use Google Drive because I have used it before and my videos get blocked on there. Since Google owns YouTube, it makes sense since they probably use the same copyright bots? idk how that stuff works.
I don't want to use Vimeo as I feel it's too expensive - the money you pledge for the bonus content/other rewards gets used in this way: https://youtu.be/-QGyEvMyf4o (it's an unlisted youtube video, check the description for timestamps on what I talk about).
MegaNZ I have researched and it is a lot cheaper than Vimeo, but still not free. And it also doesn't work in all countries. So even though it's cheaper, it would be silly to pay for something that would also require some people to use a VPN changer if I'm currently using Dailymotion and Openload for free.
Anyhoo, what I'm trying to say is I really want to accommodate as many people as possible, by doing whatever is in my power to do... But there is no way to please everyone, as different things seem to work for different people. If my internet situation was better I'd upload to both sites but I can't do that at the moment without pushing A LOT of my work back - especially streaming, plus I'm not the only one using the internet at home. So this is the best I can do <3
