After last week's high (E68 - 70), I have to admit I was a little disappointed by how things wrapped up, but I'm looking forward to hearing your interpretations and resources (video "explanation" links and such). I ramble a lot towards the end, but summarily I just meant that I never felt (in 70 episodes) that I needed to "do research" to understand and enjoy the show or any one of its brilliant characters.

Monster handled complex characters and philosophies in such a simple, yet effective way (achieved by great writing and slowly unfolding backstories thanks to the perfect pacing). Viewers could choose to delve more deeply into concepts rooted firmly in reality (character psyches, ethics, historical references) or a few more abstract ideas/symbols that were brought up relatively subtly in the overall story.

However with the finale it feels like (suddenly) key points were brought up and left hanging abstractly in the air. I felt a bit unprepared to change my approach to the show in order for my "small brain to grasp it's greatness" (🤭). I always expected it would be a great show to rewatch so that I can appreciate foreshadowings and delve more deeply into the aforementioned concepts and symbolism (to appreciate it on a different level), but right now it just feels like 70 episodes of awesome exposition led to... that? Okay.

This is mostly how I feel regarding "antagonism" in the show (not just a single antagonist) though, just to be clear. I loved and appreciate how things wrapped up for characters like Eva, Lunge, Tenma, Nina, Roberto, Dieter, Wim and his father, Grimmer and other characters.

Before I say more though, if you have a moment, please fill in this form so I can do a proper review/discussion after the "dust has settled" and I have had time to think over and "digest" the finale.
