So, the latest volume of SCS is from Rac's point of view, and I intend for this to be somewhat normal in this 6th volume. I want to explore different viewpoints in the world of SCS. They should always be written while Cat is on the scene, so... basically, the normal narrative continues, be we jump from Cat's head every few chapters to someone else's.

I'm mostly planning on sticking to Rac and Lucy's noggin's for this.

In any case, with the first of the Rac chapters down, I'm curious about which POV to use next?

Making this a whole poll is a bit extra... but I like being a bit extra.

Honestly never a fan of too much time out of the focus of the story, the protagonist.

I like the new POV shift, but I think it's important for such shift not to go on for too long. Two chapters back-to-back makes it feel excessive. Rac's perspective is great and if you can keep it in the same chapter using a line-break and not a chapter change, I'd say that'd be fine, but using a chapter break makes it feel like it should go back to Cat. And since you decided to make it an "Interlude" instead of a bona fide chapter, that makes it even worse, IMO.

change the pov only if the mc is doing nothing interesting at the moment or you present information which the mc cannot have.

I enjoy POV switches, since they allow for a new way of looking at the world the MC resides in, allowing for further world building. Also it is always interesting to see the MC from an outside perspective and how others view her.

I think your ideia is really good, if Cat is "on vacation" or on her day-to-day a perspective change can help the story but, on high octane scenes, if the view change for another that don't have nothing to add it is just strange and leave the reader with a hanging out feeling!

I just read it and oh no, I love having Rac's POV. Lucy's PoV was great too. Being in a head other than Cat's is novel and so interesting. It'd be interesting for a volume or something to swap around like this.

2023-05-27 13:32:23 I mainly just listen to it though audiobooks so I'm a bit behind on what's going on & haven't read the recent perspective switch so grain of salt and all that. I like the idea of switching perspectives but I also don't want to miss out on what cat is doing & her snark. If Cat's doing something repetitive, or Cat's indisposed then I'll like it. If they split up then I'd like to see both perspectives even if ones much shorter then the other. Otherwise I'm sure I'll like it, as with most of your work just don't know how much.
