Hello Everybun!

Here's the June Index, and also a bit of news!

First up, Dead Tired is on schedule for a July release! But it won't be the only book I'll be publishing soon! I intend to have Sporemageddon out on Amazon before the end of the month, if Amazon is willing to comply with things, of course!

This is your Index link: HERE

Oh, and a big welcome to all of our new friends this month! Seems like Spore has brought in a bunch of new people! If you're one of them, don't be shy! Hop on over to the Discord, we'd love to chat!

Finally! Justice for Mem. :-)

Can we get patron chapters as body posts or epubs or pdfs

RavensDagger

I can arrange something like that. Patreon body posts are a no-go. Patreon isn't made for posting, and it's writing engine is awful. If you have a pc and open the Gdocs, you can just click on File>Downloads>Epub and it will download the file as an epub for you!

crownfall

Crying and sobbing and reloading Google docs at the beech and crying and it crashes and sobbing

crownfall

Most patrons I sub post chapter updates in body and my readers always beg and cry for it

RavensDagger

Oh no, which stories? And are you on the Discord? I can send you the Ebups directly!

crownfall

what's the discord link! I'm reading shroomageddon. Read a bit of heart of dorkness forever ago.

Spencer Herold

how often does the google doc update?

RavensDagger

It updates live while I'm writing! So... every time I write a chapter that story's Gdocs will update!

Spencer Herold

Really? I haven’t seen a change to the spores and sorcery google doc for at least two RR updates.

RavensDagger

Two new interludes and an epilogue were added yesterday? The next big update for that story will be on Saturday!

Spencer Herold

The most recent chapter I see on the google doc is chapter 6 of the death cap arc.

Ah! I was wondering the same thing. The new stuff doesn't automatically get added at the end. It's being put where it makes sense in the story. Basically, things aren't exactly being written in the order they show up in. I do see the Epilogue and interludes that weren't there when I last checked. Interesting. :D Though, I do stand by that I prefer reading the RR releases to this index. Loves your stories in any form anyway! ^^

RavensDagger

Ah, you're right! The interludes and epilogue were very much an exception to the norm though. I usually only write in order. I think the last time I went out of order was... maybe with Heart of Dorkness when I chose to do two timelines instead of one? That was a while ago! Sorry for the confusion everyone!

Hey I just joined the patron and as a mobile user this isn't working the best. The link to the index opens a small window in the Patreon app and when the prompt to open the index in Google docs happens, you hit accept and it gives an error page instead of opening the app. I can fix this on my PC by saving the index to my Google docs and then going and finding it in mobile though I'm pretty sure

afgasd adgasd

Got it working by posting the link in Firefox and then trying the same thing

RavensDagger

Oh no! I... don't know exactly how to fix this. I might set up like a small website in the future with all the links on it for patreons? I haven't found a good solution yet, I'm sorry. Which story were you trying to read? I can send you the Epubs!

If I were Cat I'd be looking in to a drone creation unit of some kind since she uses them so much. Especially since the damn monsters are going to literally be living outside her homes city's walls. They'd also be fantastic for city patrolling. Able to go underground in to all the nasty places and give warning of underground assaults. A side benefit would be the ability to help people. Keep them from being raped and robbed. If it was some kind of mobile cat drone it could even go out and find its own resources. Perhaps a combination of organic and cybernetic with the opening of a few tech trees so it could eat the dead monsters and use them as raw materials. She could even sell them as defensive combat pets. Just an idea.

I mostly read on my phone. This layout for reading chapters ahead is awful., unless I'm missing something? Open a document that I need to scroll through to find Sporemageddon, then go into it and it's like 2 words per line in the middle of my screen where I then need to scroll down forever and hope to find the next chapter. How will I even know when a new chapter comes out?? Would posting chapters here be too much to ask for? Or can someone explain a way to make this worth it over just waiting a week for new chapters of the story?

Honestly your system worked all good as soon as I got it to load haha. I realize you said this on Tuesday but honestly a copyable link that I can paste into a browser worked great on mobile. It's a little finicky like it's possibly to hit your finger too far to the right and jump to wherever that is in the book. (The big scroll slider that has all the chapters lined out) though it's not a huge problem! Just one people have probably run into I already read the whole sporemageddon book no need for epubs, thank you though! Even a pastebin with the link and a text like "copy and paste into dedicated browser if on mobile" would help out dummies like i

I think the reading experience is good but the ability to know about updates and stuff is more involved, I think you just gotta open Google docs and see when it was last edited. The scroll is pretty quick but you do gotta remember what chapter you last read was. I'd give it a solid 6.5/10 convenience score. They don't wanna post chapters here because the word engine for Patreon is very lacking in comparison to something like docs, which is understandable, docs is great Tl:Dr check Google docs for when the document was last edited, it's not a definite sign of an update but it's better than nothing

The author updates on a schedule, but it can be hard to follow since they are writing like 8 different web novels at once. On the bright side it means you get a TON of new content every week, but the downside is the chaos of trying to follow it all. It's best to just bookmark the story you are reading.
