Hi, everyone.

I received some messages regarding issues with Vodkalibur. The reason is that the author is updating the tool and older versions are deprecated.

The tool is uploaded in The Stage of Modding Season 2 discord channel: discord.com/channels/502270997236547585/743419321493225483

Versions 1.90 or newer will auto-update.

Also, I'll write a basic tutorial for the newer versions.

  • Settings

First of all, you have to enter Settings and select your Gamesave Directory and Installation Directory (the "Paks" folder). Also, it's important to select which DLCs you purchased (this tool doesn't allow you to use non-purchased items).

  • Character Creation

Now Vodkalibur will read your savegame and show your created characters. You can edit an used slot or start from scratch in an empty one. For this example I will use an empty slot.

This will lead to a couple of screens where you will decide if you'll start with the profile of a Regular Character, a CaS race or a NPC.

For this example I'll make a Female High Village Clan character.

And this will lead to the character creation screen.

This is the basic Female High Village Clan character, just like right after selecting it in-game.

To remove an item, right-click in it and select "Remove Item".

Now let's start adding items. Select a slot and the available items will be shown. By default it will show the items for that gender and slot, but you can select another gender or category. Feel free to experiment.

The number in some of the items shows that it is DLC and which one.

Double-Click any item and it will be added.

In this example I'll add the Hot Pants to the Lower Body slot.

This is fine, but Vodkalibur is for using CDLC items, isn't it? To add them select a slot and click in "Open Custom Strings".

To add an item click in "+", click in the new item and fill the info.

The new item(s) will be automatically added in the Gender-Category selected and will be selectable like any other item. It will have a Custom String tag in the thumbnail.

The icon with the arrow will lead you directly to the selected item in the Equipment Selector.

There is a second way (and easier) to add the strings.
If the strings file have the right template, you can copy the text and click in the "+" button. All the info (except the thumbnail) will be automatically filled.
This method also allows to add several items at once.

Vodkalibur also allows to group items and items can be added within a group. My last CDLC mods includes this.

To avoid issues with this (including a removal of all items!) I recommend to uncheck these options.

Update: Seems that this bug has been fixed in the latest updates.

In this example I'll use a CDLC shirt.

To edit the colors, click in the Color Block you want to change. You can edit up to 4 color blocks, but the ones shown in-game are defined by the item itself.

By default it will have the default color, to change it select Color Type => Custom and then pick the color you want. Click in "Confirm Changes" to finish.

In this example I'm going to change the shirt color to orange.

  • Saving

When you are done creating your character, click in "Save Changes".

This updates the character slot in Vodkalibur, but it isn't yet in the game. The final step is to click in "Save Gamesave" and confirm.

Now your new character has been added/edited in your gamesave. Now you can start the game and see the results. There is a "Run" button to start the game right away.

The new/edited character will be in the slot you created. You can use it right away or can even edit it further in the game's Character Editor (like making a proper thumbnail).

Vodkalibur has a lot of features that will not be part of this basic tutorial. There are a lot of tooltips and info buttons (the "?" icons). Have fun experimenting will all the possibilities!
