Would you pay 99 pounds for a soft serve ice cream?  How about buying 5 of them, one for everyone in the family?  Me neither!  I am making them instead.  The store in London says they take 4 hours to make so I have timed my attempt to see if that is true.

Great news in Melbourne - kids are back at school, the shops are open again and so too are cafes and restaurants for outside dining and a small number inside.  We are progressing back towards some resemblance of normality.  Definitely a cause for celebration.  If you live in Melbourne - well done for living through such a long, long lock-down.  For those of you living in parts of the world that are sadly going into a second wave, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Congratulations on breaking that confection down and creating all of the elements! Would love to try some of them but probably as a plated dessert rather than a cone. What would it take for your boys to give a higher mark to a dessert? Really surprised that they scored so low but I guess if they are used to your cooking they have exceptionally high standards. Did Dave get to try one? Did you? Impressed by the ice cream attachment to your mixer; I have that same mixer but as I also have a stand alone freezer bowl ice cream maker I hadn’t thought to get the attachment. It does look as though you get a better freeze with your bowl though. I might spend my cash on a bowl rather than the ice cream 😁

As a fellow Melbourian, I'd be more than happy to be one of your taste testers! Even if I wasn't from Melbourne, I'd still travel to try one of your creations! Great work Anne

I wouldn't pay 99 pounds for anything that lasts only 5 minutes or so. I think it's great to make something that looks like over-the-top when you have people over. But seeing that it takes four hours, I think I'll stick to the fruit and chantilly cream of yours. Lots of countries in Europe has just announced some sort of lockdowns. Germany has something that they call "lockdown light". Stores, shopping centers, churches and schools remain open. Only entertainment venues (cinemas, theme parks, swimming pools, gyms, theaters,...), pubs and restaurants will be closed. Up to 10 people from two households can still meet in public. Besides that, people are asked to generally abstain from unnecessary private travel and visits. So that sounds like "you can still do it, but just shouldn't do it". Lockdown will in place for four weeks, but the measures are evaluated after two weeks. Other European countries have stricter laws. And Belgium expects lockdowns to last longer than 4 weeks. Supplies in supermarkets are running low again. My supermarkets still have toilet paper and canned food, but there is certainly less items available than a couple of weeks ago. I think it is worse in other parts of the country. I'm happy for you and anyone else from Melbourne that you've made it through the lockdown. I think it was smart to go back into lockdown early, at least you'll be able to spend Christmas with your families. I'm not so sure if we'll be able to do that, especially because so many places remain open. Also, with Melbourne out of lockdown, I hope that my care package for a friend in Melbourne will arrive shortly. I've packed a selection of German snacks, treats, beverages and a little gift. But it's stuck somewhere. At least they'll be able to enjoy the treats with our other friends in Melbourne.

I never knew that existed. I would certainly never pay 99 pounds for one, not sure I'd spend four hours at home making some either. I'd have to be feeling really sweet and wanting to be in the kitchen for that long. Also would need all the proper tools. I think I'll side on the same as your kids. I don't need another wireless speaker, but I do need that chocolate top recipe! Tell me it's somewhere in your videos!

Hi Christian, Those lockdown rules sound all too familiar. The postal system here has been very slow because there were restricted numbers of workers allowed in the sorting rooms. Something that was posted from the USA 3 months ago just arrived this week. I hope that they should be able to start getting through the back log soon.

Choc top is just a waffle cone with ice-magic or magic-shell on the inside, fill with ice-cream and put back into the freezer. Melt some milk chocolate and add some extra cocoa butter to thin it down a little. Dip the ice creams into the milk chocolate - let the excess drip off and return to the freezer. I put them standing upright in little glass bottles in the door of the freezer while they are setting. 😀

Soo expensive and none of them gave all that work a 10? The mango passion fruit and dark chocolate sorbets sound delicious. Definitely will try those. I've never had gold leaf. Does it have a taste or add anything? It definitely looks fancy, but I think I'd feel weird eating it knowing I was going to just flush it all down the toilet later.

Great video. Any footage of Dave's taste test? Only fair he gets to have some after some of the "cooking hacks" creations he's had to consume :D

Is it just me or does anyone else get excited seeing their name in Ann’s videos

😂 Jedd didn't like the ginger that's why he only gave it a 7. As far as ice-cream bowls I really like the Breville stand mixer one so much better than the kitchen aid. The bowl is pretty much the same but the mixing attachment does a better job of aerating. I don't have the Breville mixer any more as I gave it away to a friend when I got the KA one. And I still miss the ice-cream attachment. I've been wondering If there would be a way of using the Breville attachment on the KA one.

The gold has no flavour at all. Purely for expensive looks

He did eat one while we watched a movie, but I didn't film it - just let him enjoy it.
