Or the viewer?  If the viewer how should they check the truth or safety of the videos methods without actually trying it?

I am an avid and very experienced crafter. I have watched so many creators make tutorial videos that aren't fake like the 5 minute crafts but are still passing on very danger information because they simply don't understand what they are doing. I can't stand "tutorials" taught by people who literally have no clue what they are doing. If you aren't a maker and you are making someone new for the first time, do not label your video a "tutorial" because it gives off the impression that you know what you are doing. Label it "Look what I made". I've watch a creator with a large youth audiences make cold-process soap without any warnings about the dangers of working with lye or use of any safety equipment. I've watched people make heavy home decor items they hung from the wall using Command Strips (not adequate) and far too many dangerous uses of power tools by people who don't know what they are doing. The creators need to be more responsible for what they are showing and how they are labeling their videos. YouTube can't watch all the videos but that does't mean they are faultless. It is their responsibility to have a safe platform and educating creators about their reasonability and taking complaints seriously would be a good first step.

Thank you Ann for continuing to make real instructional videos and debunking so many of the crappy food hack/recipe/scams that are around. I just found your youtube videos last night and joined as a Patreon supporter to help you to continue to put out real videos. Love your work!
