The newly reborn Sakura Wars is a soft reboot of the 32-bit era Japan-only classic. Previously, only the (mostly forgotten) fifth entry for the PS2 and Wii was brought to the USA, but we were lucky enough to get the newest one here.

I also realized I hadn't finished porting over the whole Sakura Wars article for the old site, so I added all of that in as well.

Sakura Wars (2019)

While the Sakura Taisen was a smash hit in the 1990s, the series never quite transitioned beyond Sega's hardware, effectively dying with the 2005 Japanese release Sakura Wars V for the PlayStation. But enough time has passed that Sega decided to resurrect the series for a new era, with the 2019 release dubbed Shin Sakura Taisen for the PlayStation 4.
