What a pleasant surprise! Yay! I can't tell you how excited for season 2 I am!!

Tony Tenser

Another episode I've been eagerly awaiting your reaction to- and such a powerful and strong episode to end the first season. Love the strong anti-war and prejudice message of this episode and also as you said the focus on healing the victims of conflict and the changing attitudes of Marmax and Galen as they are faced with the true realities happening around them. Plus Gabrielle's death scene- wow, for the first time we really see Xena let it go big-time and show incredibly emotionally just how much Gabrielle means to her - the word you used is raw and that's just what Lucy's acting is in that sequence- you'll notice she gets so caught up in the emotions that she even uses her native accent a couple of times! The chemistry between her and Renee always sells it on screen and this is a phenomenal example. I'm so glad you decided to stick with the series too and I think you have realised what a rewarding experience it is being. I love that getting numbers is not your priority on your channel but quality of content and i love that you watch some older retro shows and wish more creators/reactors would do that as there's some really golden writing and acting in past shows- more so than a lot of new ones in my opinon. I promise you, Season 2 of Xena gets even better so buckle up for the adventures to come!! :-) And its always great to hear your thoughts and feelings about what you watch and how it affects you. And I think your English is superb- always have a great time checking out you watching this show!

This episode got a lot of people triggered! Such emotional, raw acting from Lucy Lawless <3! Also who knew Xena invented CPR, lol

You're the best. I'm glad you didn't give up on Xena, or your channel. What's important is the community that I feel will be long lasting. I do hope you get views but we also want you to enjoy what you're watching and the people who watch your videos lol. I can't wait for more reactions from this show and others! Take care of yourself. Thank you!!! (Oh, and I think I've seen Lucy Lawless react to the dramatic scene in this episode somewhere on youtube. It was cool )

Are you going to do a review Q&A of this season like Charmed? Or just go on to the next season?

I'll just continue. I'm not good a making reviews, but Charmed reviews are basically tradition now, so I'll stick to it for now.

So enjoying your reactions to these episodes! I’m slowly catching up and hope I’ll get there by the time you finish with Season 4. I did want to mention a couple things for this one, though. You had a question about Xena asking for a shield when she has to amputate the soldier’s leg. I believe the shield was intended to be heated and then used as a large flat surface to cauterize the end of the limb. I’m not sure what of that they actually shot, but I think it was part of the episode that was edited out before it aired because it was too graphic. The original cut was too much for the network. You also mentioned that some of the music cues in this episode reminded you of Battlestar Galactica. Have you watched all of the new series? You may have seen a prominent actor from this show if you have. And someone earlier mentioned a clip of Lucy watching this episode. That was from one of the “Coffee Talk” videos that Lucy and Renee would shoot for the official fan club back in the day. While I don’t recommend you look for those things online, as some would definitely contain spoilers, this one is safe - just a short clip of the two of them watching this scene. And it’s so engrossing, they don’t even say much! https://youtu.be/IHjidXymfs0

Love how you're loving my reactions 😉 Glad you joined my journey Jen! Thank you for your explanation regarding the shield and sharing the great clip. Can't get enough of Lucy and Renee and love their reaction at the end :D I've seen BSG and it's one of my fav shows! Lucy was so different there! once again an example of what a great actress she truly is :)
