I had thought that this episode might be well-received and I’m glad it was! Not only does Marcus return from “The Path Not Taken,” but so does Toxeus from “Death in Chains,” and of course Hades makes his second Xena appearance. ... Charon, the boatman who ferries the dead across the River Styx, shows up on Xena for the first time; he is played by Michael Hurst, who most famously plays Hercules’ best friend Iolaus. (Not that it’s all that obvious.) Charon is a lot of fun. ... Atyminius, the serial killer, is interesting to me because he’s been dead for so long. The Underworld just keeps filling up with the dead. You could meet villains from centuries ago. ... Xena’s previous relationship with Marcus is one tidbit about Xena’s history; it makes one wonder what else there is to learn. ... I think it was really cool that you were interested in what the Underworld is like; it had been shown before of Hercules but appears for the first time on Xena, and this time THERE’RE HARPIES!!!! 😁 ... I think the next episode is really good, but will say no more on that subject. Of course, I like most episodes, so don’t go by me anyway. ... I really liked your reception here!

Thanks for the reaction. Actually the bad guy Xena met in Elysian Fields was from the episode "Death in Chains", not "Prometheus"

Great reaction to a very good episode :-) I'm happy you warmed more to Marcus on his second outing and were touched by the emotional connection with him and Xena which was excellently played as you said. And Atyminius is so darn creepy too. I knew you'd be on edge when it appeared he had savaged Gabrielle- that's a very well done disconcerting misdirection for a few minutes. There is a lot more involving the Underworld and Hades on Hercules as stated ;-) I also feel the landscape where the encounters with the Harpies take place look very much like a CGI rehearsal for Lord Of The Rings. I loved your opinion of Atyminius too- "what a f***ing loser" LOL As you say great character development in this episode too when Marcus resists his own temptation and does the right thing. The ending definitely makes me a little watery-eyed. Here's to the next episode soon! :-)
