I think there's nothing catching the ash because its a reference to Maroon when she says "when the morning came we were cleaning incense off your vinyl shelf" also the Mastermind vinyl has two constellations, Sagittarius for Taylor and Pisces for Joe 😎 alsoooo if you look at the forecast on the weather channel its rain at midnight a reference to her song Midnight Rain annnnnddd the fish is a koi fish, she had a guitar with koi fish on it during the Speak Now tour 😎😎

Hey Troy! Been a fan for ages but only recently got the Patreon, and loving everything that I've seen so far, especially the concert experiences. Personally as a concert reaction, I don't know how familiar you are with Avicii, but I would love to see you watch the Tribute Concert they did in 2019, it's on his Youtube page and it's just over two hours long. For me, it was filled with many sad and happy moments, that take me back to the exact places I was when I first heard them. As always, stay happy, healthy and strong!!

Long theory on the LH TS MV. Plus im sorry troy because i love taylor but you bring me alot of joy in all your reactions. This music video makes some much more sense post breakup in way and the way others have analysed the midnights album as a whole post joe and taylor breakup. This feels like it was written mid breakup and is her still thinking her and joe will remain friends afterwards (obviously something more has happened with her close friends and herself unfollowing joe on social medias). The music video screams how she feels disconnected with joe (her being awake while he's asleep with a cloud above her head). It this feeling of being kept awake by the emptiness and discontent of the relationship. When she touches his chest, she sees something that she wants to experience (the freeness of being able to pursue her career) but its trapped within him. This is further emphasised in the song midnight rain if you relate it to him. She wants to explore the her future and feels constrained by joe. (the future being symbolised by the cosmos - being a star) Also the feeling about sleepless nights of laying awake thinking about how you are unhappy with the current situation. Then the scene where she's at a party and with him and everything is fine. That they have these fun parts of the relationship and feeling as though the most intimate parts of their love is being broadcasted at moments with all the people taking photos and judging them (both negative and positive). I also think about the lavender flowers which feels like a call back to were she first met joe (not in a getaway car this time) but in her time of hiding out before the reputation era. Otherwise known as folkloriaon forest. I also think the TV is an interesting motif throughout her songs e.g. in karma - "karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me" "he never thinks of me except when im on tv" - midnight rain. Someone also made a comment that she talks about colours alot throughout her whole discography. Burning red love, sad blue and golden daylight. They mentioned that blue and red make this purple colour and thats the feeling she's in. That she's in this haze of both love and sadness. She knows she won't marry him, but does not want to leave their cloud of love they have built together - not leaving but not staying and having to make that decision to continue to work on the relationship or leave it before it gets worse. I'd also add that when she's in the purple water, she is hitting with dampened hits of daylight maybe saying there is still good parts when during this haze. Plus in combination with the lyrics, she wants to tell joe how she feels, but she knows how it's going to end and it most likely wont be good with the media and with their friendship. It's also reminiscing over how good he was during some of her worst moments. My final couple of points is that she feels finally at the end, when she finally alone, that she can break down the walls and explore the cosmos of her future. My only thing i can link to the fish is the saying "big fish in a small pond" but i haven't thought of a succinct way of putting how that relates. Also blunt to make her see the new perspective of her future and how to get there. or just for fun idk. Love ya work!

i also think its interesting how much she mentions the colour blue in the lover era which i did not pick up on until your video, she already knew that she would follow this love even if it made her blue. (cruel summer, lover, MAATHP, "im with you even if it makes me blue" - paper rings, "i blew things out of proportion, now youre blue" - afterglow)

Love this analysis in theory! But they were very much still together during the writing on Midnights. He attended parties with her in early 2023 and posted her cats and other things on instagram as well. (reddit knows way too much, and i enjoy reddit way too much)
