Paseo a Añashuayco Arequipa - Perú (Patreon)

Las Canteras de Añashuayco son un atractivo turístico natural ubicado al noroeste de la ciudad de Arequipa. Se les conoce también como las «Canteras del Sillar». Se ubica en una quebrada que se extiende por más de 18 kilómetros. Nace a los pies del volcán Chachani, uno de los volcanes más importantes de la famosa Ciudad Blanca, al lado del río Chili. 

La quebrada de Añashuayco está localizada en el distrito de Uchumayo. El nombre de “Canteras del Sillar” se le dio precisamente porque este es el principal material de construcción utilizado desde hace muchos años para las iglesias, casonas y conventos de Arequipa. 

En este lugar se hizo con dos amigos un recorrido y sacamos algunas fotos. Las primeras en un lugar bastante turístico en donde hay una escultura en una pared alta de la cantera. Las siguientes imágenes se hicieron en una pequeña quebrada donde a piedra volcanica no es blanca sino mas bien rosada. 

The Añashuayco quarries are a natural tourist attraction located northwest of the city of Arequipa. They are also known as the «Sillar quarries». It is located in a ravine that extends for more than 18 kilometers. It is born at the foot of the Chachani volcano, one of the most important volcanoes of the famous White City, next to the Chili River.

The Añashuayco gorge is located in the district of Uchumayo. The name of "Sillar quarries" was given precisely because this is the main building material used for many years for the churches, mansions and convents of Arequipa.

In this place a tour was made with two friends and we took some photos. The first in a rather tourist place where there is a sculpture in a high wall of the quarry. The following images were made in a small ravine where volcanic stone is not white but rather pink.
