I’ll give a longer comment later, but for now, know that I ADORED this! Aside from having vampires and ballrooms I was getting strong Carmilla vibes and just... YESSSS!!! And the SFX really completed the atmosphere, so amazing work to DA & TW, you guys do incredible work!

I don't think Cathrine and Odessa would approve of me being here.

I can't be the only one who sees the vamps as looking like Lust from Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood right? 😂 love the work as always DA!

I'm writing a Lady Dimitrescu NSFW script and for some reason I imagine that she would have these parties and this is one of the other daughters we haven't seen yet.

This audio felt like one of those old radio shows. The pace was great, as was the sfx in providing that nice atmosphere. I definitely pictured myself in another time period. Everything about this audio felt sweet; yes, even with the feeding. But yeah, it really felt like I was listening to one of those old radio shows. Awesome work to both DA and TW.

OMG YES!! i'm glad it wasn't just me who got major Carmilla vibes. Be still my little gay heart lol

Vampires, so you know I love it (we all know at this point, lol). The writing, pacing, SFX, just everything came together to paint such a cohesive and immersive picture and i'm here for it. Well done TW and DA

Welp, my comment somehow disappeared, so now for try number 2. More vampire audios are always a blessing. I loved that we were actually deceived and nothing more than prey to her in this case. That's beautifully tragic in its own and reminds me of classical vampire stories. The atmosphere was very fitting for that too with the music and the sounds of the other guests. Really made it feel like a 19th century kind of ball. Also, I too couldn't help but think of the classic vampire novella Carmilla (which to my surprise has quite a few fans here, love to see it). The association is almost inevitable with us falling prey to a beautiful aristocratic female vampire at a masquerade. Certain lines were also very striking to me, such as her implying it had been a long while since she had actually wanted to dance with someone or felt cold. That immediately reminded me of Carmilla insinuating it had actually been over a hundred years since her last ball in the novella. Great work as usual, I really liked her words of goodbye to us too. Very affectionate despite what she just did to us. Beautifully tragic indeed.

Ok time for that longer comment: To start off, I really love the ambiance! The music, the soft chatter, it did a really nice job of setting the scene and feeling like a ball! And yes, like I said before (and like others have said since) CARMILLA VIBES. I know I say this on almost every vampire audio (especially FXF) but like, IT'S TRUE!!! 😂 *flashback to the time Carmilla referenced attending a ball back in 1698* And tbh, even if the parallels weren't so strong that I could personally see this as some Carmilla AU, it was just a good script in general! I liked it! Not only am I weak for vampires and balls (😏) but something about all of it just appealed to part of the hopeless romantic in me 😂 (Another random, oddly specific thing that I really enjoyed was the use of the word "enchanting". It's like my fav word, silly and strange as that sounds). And tbh, the character is a mood. Any time she talked about not really enjoying the ball/wishing she could just be off on her own rather than at the social gathering was a MOOD And even tho this is just a one-shot, the moment you had this girl reference siblings I was like "👀 tell me more" 😂 I wanna hear more family shenanigans, and how their hunting styles differ (as is referenced at the end of the audio)! Oh and I forgot to mention... The listener being good at dancing? TOTALLY RUINED THE IMMERSION AND REALISM FOR ME, SHEESH!!! LOL JK 😂 😂 😂 Also! I think part of the Carmilla vibes for me came from the poetic-ness of the vampire's flirting. Like when she compared our eyes to a lost gem. And some of the other ways the vampire spoke had similar shades of poetry and I could only think of (again) Carmilla's line about her first ball: "I see it all, as divers see what is going on above them, through a medium, dense, rippling, but transparent." Also, honestly, when the vampire was explaining why she still liked the idea of a masquerade even if she didn't enjoy the masquerade itself was a mood. And it reminds me of my thoughts on the internet itself 😂 Oh yeah! And then she took us to the gardens! That's where one of the most iconic (at least IMO) Carmilla scenes happened! And the way she describes the gardens 👌 TW, you're an excellent writer! Your descriptions of things and the atmosphere they always give off are always so lovely, even if in a darker way. As you put it: "enchanting"! And your characters (both this one and Rune Mistress) are a good mix of likable/sympathetic/sweet and vaguely ominous. I really like it! And of course, DA, the voice is very lovely and sweet. She was really nice to listen to, even after she revealed her darker side. And all the SFX you had to put together (both for the ballroom and garden) were really nice. You did an excellent job bringing this one to life, but vampires DO seem to be your specialty 😂 As always, I quite enjoyed the blood-drinking! Or rather, I enjoyed LISTENING to it 😂 And again, I know this is supposed to be a one-shot and maybe even implies that we die at the end, but the whole "meet again" is like "OMG are we gonna turn into a vampire after this?" 👀 Either way, incredible work, TW and DA! #WaltzLikeIts1698 😉

Fun Fact: Sheridan Le Fanu‘s Carmilla actually predates Bram Stoker’s Dracula by 25 years and influenced many aspects of Dracula and many other vampire stories
