Hello,

I get a notification about a new feature from Patreon that let new supporters (so, you) to be charged differently. It seems that with the new system, you will be charged the day you pledge and then the next month on the same date you first joined.

It's explained in this document :

I wonder what would be the best for you, if you are alright with the current system or prefer the new one. If you are already pledging it will not change anything for you and you will still be charged the first day of each month if you are still pledging, as stated in the document.

Essentially, this could avoid the issue where new generous person that want to support my work during the end of a month get charged the next first day of the month.

I don't really see any downside with this change and I think it's probably better this way, but I still ask nonetheless.

I think it's important to ask you directly even if, as I said, if you are already pledging, nothing will change for you. But maybe, one day you want to unpledge and would like to pledge again in the future, so I think you can be concerned by this change nonetheless.

As for animations, do not worry I'm still working on them and I will publish some new stuff soon.

Take care, and thank you.

i prefer new system as some creators would only post at the beginning or end of month. This new system would make it more consistent.

I'm supporting you and your work. You are not an employee of mine and you did loads of work before I began to support you, (which I have access to). In my opinion, it only affects the first support month, and as I said you have been working far before I discovered your talents. The current system is just fine - I even wish it were more flexible so those who enjoy certain elements of your work could "tip" you further or support you more. Keep on doing your thing.

If I was a new patron I think I'd prefer the new. Just no more putting your Patreon on pause. You deserve sick pay too.

I'm here to support your work, any option is fine for me. Whatever the rest of patrons prefer! I personally prefer the old system because I like all billings on the same day. But I think this new system is more fair for patrons overall. Oh, and I agree with Stalnaker about sick leave! It's kind of you to pause, but I'd prefer to pay while you're sick too. So the new system may allow patrons to choose what they want to do individually, it's worth thinking about it.

Hey, thanks for the feedback, I think you will not be affected unless you decide one day to unpledge and pledge again, but even then you are free to pledge the first day of a month so you only have to pay that day for next months. However, I understand that the current system is great if you prefer the automation system. Pause billing is not affected. If I decide to pause billing for a month, it will be a free month for all of my current supporters no matter the date they first pledged, I appreciate that you think I shouldn't pause billing sometimes, but I think it's more fair that way

Hey, I appreciate your thoughts about the way I pause billing. I will think about it, but I think sometimes it's fair to pause for all of you

Hey, thanks a lot for your kind words and your feedback. I appreciate it a lot. The vote result is unexpected to me but now that all of you are giving your reasons, it makes more sense. I have to think about it

When I pledge to a new Patreon, I feel like I have to wait til the first to pay tier, or else it will feel like I'm getting charged twice if I pay tier near the end of the month. So I would welcome the new system.

yes, I second this. I see my support as extending to supporting having time off for rest, vacations etc. You are "on salary" not a paid by the hour worker.

I have a lot of subscriptions for different things that come out all over the month, making it hard to keep track of things, so knowing that my Patreon subscription for you comes out on the first of every month helps me personally - although this is an example, as I chose the annual payment option since I'm strapped for cash at the moment. But I can definitely see how being charged on the same date that people subscribed every month would be beneficial for others. (i.e. when I was in work I'd set my monthly subscriptions to come out the day after payday.) (I don't know if there's a way for you to add another option to a poll once it's been posted? But maybe an option to say you like both might be helpful as well?)

I changed my vote to the new system. It seems that would be the most patron-friendly option for new patrons. As long as my payment date does not change, I am good with whatever you decide to do. I like having my patron charges occur on the same day each month (keeps me organized).
