I see that many of us have a thing for the bodyguard trope! It was definitely a strong

winner in the poll.

I said last time about having four love interests, and my plan was going to be one

unexpected love interest and then have the rest as the obvious more royal-type love

interests that go with the story theme. But…seeing as you were all also really quite

keen on the matchmaker, I think we’ll be picking them as well! :D

Which means we’re left with two slots for the royal-type love interests.

For these we can either go with the very obvious trope-type royal archetypes, which I

imagine you guys love as much as me! Or we could look at something less obvious.

We already touched on this in an earlier episode, so I’ll give a reminder of the ideas

we had for the royal-types:

 A noble

 A courtier not of a level that should be looking to court a royal

 A Prince/Princess from another kingdom

 The possible heir from the previous generation of ruler

Now, I love the idea of the possible heir. With the story you guys decided on, our

main character has been chosen at random to begin a new line of royalty, taking

over from the previous line.

But what if the person who was supposed to be heir of the previous line doesn’t want

to give up so easily?

This creates all kinds of drama and angst possibilities that I adore!

Still, that doesn’t mean an angsty route couldn’t come from some other source

though. Always fun to go for the unexpected sometimes!

Perhaps our previous heir doesn’t want to rule at all or have anything to do with the

new royal line, but falls for our main character and struggles with the idea that

marrying them means they will have to become a royal and be thrust back into the

life they just managed to rend themselves from!

But our story does centre around the idea that all kinds of royal/noble families are

sending prospective marriage candidates to woo the main character in hopes of

securing a royal attachment to this new powerful ruler—and we definitely want one of

the routes to be about that.

And all these royal-type characters would definitely suit that role.

A noble person might be seeking to win the main character’s hand in order to elevate

their status.

A courtier might have some in the entourage of another royal heir but decides to try

their luck and woo the main character in hopes of winning their hand over the royal

they arrived with.

And then our potential Prince/Princess could be looking to secure a throne for

themselves if they are not the heir to their own kingdom’s throne.

There’s already a lot of story possibilities from these characters!

So, I’ll leave it up to you to decide which two will make it through to the final round,

lol! :D
