That Bit Extra - FIRST LOOK AT BOOK 4! (Patreon)

In the Forest at the Edge of Town. Midnight

At this point in my life, I'm not sure how many times I've come to consciousness with my body wracked by intense pain.

But I'm pretty sure it's way more than most normal people have had to suffer through.

As my limbs begin to tingle with feeling, and my chest struggles to draw in a breath, I choke out a cough that drives a current of pain to drag through my entire being.

I claw my fingers into the dirt beneath me. Clench my toes into my boots. My teeth gnash so hard together to withstand the agony that I'm sure I hear a couple of them chip.

When it finally passes, my eyes sting as I force them open, and my senses flood back to me in a storm of blinding white.

This opening may change slightly, as I’ve changed a few things already since writing it, hehe! But yeah...it’s an exciting start for the MC...
