So the thing I had planned for this month’s That Bit Extra is taking a bit longer than I thought so instead I thought I’d show you a bit of Echolian workings!

The Echolian language is based on an alphabet that replaces ours as I’m not language-proficient enough to make one up from scratch, lol!

But there are rules to account for when there’s too many consonants together, etc.

When working out a word, I will translate it from the Echolian alphabet then work on forming it into a workable word which sounds correct for the flow of the language I imagine for it, which then gets transferred into the Echolian dictionary we have so it becomes set from then on. So it’s not just a case of switching the letters over, there is more involved which I do actually find really fun! :D

And a BIG sneak-peek for you to finish off - Y’uli’sed is the type of supernatural the antagonist of Book Four is! The English translation means ‘Daystars’.

The Y'uli'sed already have my full attention. So excited... and deeply curious, about Book Four!

Interesting tidbit, and I love the sneak peek. I foresee some possible fires in the future of Wayhaven (and not just the the LIs and MC between the sheets, lol). I like how you worked the language--like you, I'm not proficient enough to develop my own, so I bastardize other languages and Frankenstein them together when I need a fantasy language.
