Adam/Ava folds his/her arms. "You of all people know that stories are just stories. You cannot take tales and pretend you think what happens there will happen in reality."

The brusk words beat against Nate/Nat, but he/she knows Adam/Ava is right.

"I'm scared…." He/She swallows hard as the admission prickles with dagger sharp tips at his/her lungs. "What if I become the villain in their story?"
