The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 19/Nov/2021 (Patreon)

Although editing isn't my most favourite part of the process...I do LOVE getting to do the test playthroughs after, hehe! :D
Seeing all of your ideas come together in actual narrative form still makes my heart so happy, even after doing this for some time! Going from the intensity of writing the branching and coding and then reading it flow and develop in just the way you want it so as the mechanics aren't obvious is just...AAHHHH! I get goosebumps!
Doing this with Chapter 9 has been particularly awesome as it was supposed to be a sort of 'fun break' chapter before the rest of the intensity that is coming later in the book :D
Chapter 10 has started off really well, though I had to flip a coin to see which version I wanted to write first. A very technical, writerly approach to making that decision, hehe!
But now I'm undecided if I actually want the start of it to be included in the end of Chapter 9. That's something I'll have to test out in a playthrough too once it's done. It's much easier to work that out when actually playing. But that should be easy enough to just move over if I decide to do that.
Had a few extra things I did this week too. I settled on some stuff and a particular idea for Wayhaven's vampire lore as I working on something for Patreon. Even though some ideas are definitely set in stone already, Wayhaven is constantly evolving and developing as I write. That's one of the best things about world-building!
I also made a big decision about The Curse of Creek Edge which should hopefully help speed things along on that. Because I only work on it when I can in spare time, it's obviously going quite slowly, but I want it to be as quality as the main series so it's worth taking that time, but still…I'd like to get the demo out as soon as I can!

For Update+ this week, well, I never like making N tense or awkward but sometimes...it just can't be avoided—as N is finding out here!

"I didn't mean to say something wrong," I comment after a moment.
Nate/Nat shakes his/her head, adopting a tense smile and finally looking to me. "You didn't. It's a…sensitive topic for some vampires."
I pause. "We don't need to talk about it—"
"No, I think it's probably time that we do," he/she interrupts, a long breath easing out of her/him as he/she forces his/her fingers through his/her hair.

I hope you all have the most wonderful weekend! We'll be offline as usual, so I'll talk to you all soon! <3
Also, those who haven't voted and want to for next month's Christmas scenario theme, it's open until the 25th November (gives me time to plan scenarios before writing them in Dec!)
