That Bit Extra—"Again." (Patreon)

A dash of motion brushes past my peripheral vision, more solid than the rest. At least…I think. 

But then another swirls from my right and doubt begins to cloud my instincts.

Instincts that I should have trusted.

I let out a yell of surprise as ${adam} comes barelling towards me at speed, covering myself with my arms as I await the painful impact of ${a_his} fist against me.

It's a few silent moments where nothing happens before I peer out from around my arms.

$!{adam} is pursing ${a_his} lips at me, arms folded, and ${a_his} withering stare meeting my gaze.

"I guess that wasn't the best start…," I murmur, swinging my arms down and offering an apologetic half-shrug.

$!{adam} sighs and turns away. "Again."

So this is the version of this moment if you're not great at combat, which a lot of my MCs aren't, hehe!

There are different versions of this moment if you're good at combat, took the combat option last time and are relatively good at combat, another one if you've got good people skills, etc.

I just wanted to share this one because that, "Again." had me chuckling after using it so much in Book Two's scene, hehe! I do love bringing up stuff from previous scenes or moments where I can :D
