Farah’s chair almost topples over as she springs up from it with a smile exploding onto her face. “Oh, it’s amazing! I’ve never—I mean, we’ve never had a real home before. A place that’s actually ours, right?” She glances at the others.

Nate chuckles softly. “It’s true. We usually stay at the facility when not on a job, and that’s not exactly a place you could call home.”

“I don’t know,” Morgan comments through a stream of cigarette smoke, which curls and dances in the same colour as her grey eyes. “Home is overrated.”

“You’re just saying that to sound tough,” Farah mutters.

“It’s easier to finish a job when you have a solid base to work from,” Adam adds, ignoring the banter between the others.

Farah flops back into her chair with a huff of breath, placing her chin in her hand and pouting her lips. “Of course you’d say that. Can no one just enjoy the fact we have an actual home together now?”

Adam’s stiff posture softens at Farah’s disappointment. “You’re right, Farah. I apologise. It is nice to…have somewhere to settle with those I am closest to.”

Farah once again beams with a smile.
