Question for Ava: “Has it ever crossed your mind that the line between stoic and stubborn is a rather fine one? Especially where matters of the heart are concerned?”

Nat almost breaks into a laugh as the question is asked, managing to mask it with a cough as Ava glares at her.

“I don’t see why such information should be relevant to me,” Ava replies as she shifts in the chair. “I have no interest in anything romantic with anyone.”

“Sure…” Felix mumbles from one side, gaining yet another glare from the team leader.

She fidgets again. “I am stoic because I need to be, but stubbornness…I realise that is a flaw. One that has consequences.”

Felix raises a brow. “Like what?”

Ava glances away, her voice seeming trapped in her throat.

Nat’s amusement fades instantly as she frowns in concern at her friend. 

The conversation is brought to silent end.
